Recently the country queen herself Carrie Underwood has announced that she’s making the big move to Las Vegas! Her residency Reflection will be at The Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas and will begin December 1st! We can hardly believe she didn’t have one before considering what an incredible career she’s had!
Las Vegas is our dream adult playground for a million reasons! And one of them is the A-list residencies! There’s been a star-studded list of people from the king himself, Elvis Presley to Donny and Marie Osmond.
To celebrate and prepare for our inevitable trip to Las Vegas to see Carrie Underwood, we are going to take you through some of the all-time greatest Las Vegas residencies!
Be sure to get your tickets to see Carrie Underwood here! Pre-sale goes from May 18th to May 23rd!
Arguably Elton John is one of the most famous people on the planet. Young and old everyone knows who he is, and everyone has rocked out to ‘Bennie And The Jets.’ He’s had more than one residency in Las Vegas with the most recent stretching from September of 2011 to May of 2018. Million Dollar Piano took place at Caesars Palace, and we are still devastated we never took the leap and went! Elton’s career is lined with hits, from ‘Your Song’ to ‘Rocketman,’ it’s endless. He’s larger than life and that aligns with the energy of Las Vegas. And yes, our love for Elton John did heighten after we saw Rocketman, can you blame us?
When we think of Las Vegas residency we automatically think about Britney Spears. Piece Of Me, during its run, was the show to go to. Everyone, including us, were dying to get tickets and spend weekends with our girls drunk and singing to ‘Toxic.’ Piece Of Me ran from December of 2013 to December of 2017, and was a whole 248 shows!! Literal insane numbers! The show took place at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood. If you went to Las Vegas during her residency specifically if you went to Planet Hollywood you’d know that even the elevators were covered in Britney’s face. It was our dream come true.
Mariah Carey is a Las Vegas staple at this point. She’s a diva in the best way possible and embodies the exact energy you want to find in Sin City. Mariah has had more than one residency with #1 to Infinity lasting from 2015 to 2017 and The Butterfly Returns lasting from 2018 to 2020. Both shows took place in the elegant venue, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, we wouldn’t expect anything less. We never got the chance to see Mariah Carey in Las Vegas, however, if she’s ever back for a residency around Christmas we are on the next flight.
If you want to talk about Las Vegas regulars Celine Dion is the regular. Her first residency A New Day ran from 2003 to 2007 and her second residency Celine ran from 2011 to 2019. She’s put in some serious time and is truly a Las Vegas staple. Both of these residencies took place at the only place regal enough to house Celine Dion, Caesars Palace! If you missed out on seeing Celine Dion during her last run, we have great news! She’s headed back to Las Vegas! She is joining Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Carrie Underwood at The Resorts World Casino!
Lady Gaga is a legend in her own right, and if you saw her during her time in Las Vegas you know why she’s on this list. She is well on her way to being the titan that the other four artists have put in the time to become. Enigma was a shorter residency lasting from December 2018 to February 2020 with 39 shows making it one of the shortest residencies on this list. It took place at the Park Theater at MGM which encapsulates the hip, younger energy that her show brings!
