Point North Fight Back Against Their Bullies In New Song & Video

We’re bad with directions, but we’re pretty sure stanning Point North is the only path we need to continue to follow anyway, and this new single and video is a sure-fire way to keep us going steady. Our love for this band grows by the second, and how could it not with the talent they have mixed with their undeniably rad AF existence.

If you’ll remember, Point North dropped their debut, full-length album Brand New Vision back during the later part of 2020, and we’re still vibing hard with it! It was nothing short of a masterpiece, but in true artist fashion, these guys never stop creating and have just released a new single and video called ‘Nice Now’ – a punchy, pop-rock anthem about those people in life who always doubted you or put you down, that is, until you made it. Then they wanted to be your friend and decided to be ‘Nice Now’ that you have something to offer them. The vocals on this track go so hard, and they got us so hyped that we couldn’t help but scream sing along to every word until we were hoarse (no lie- can someone bring us some water and throat lozenges!?)

About the song, the Point North’s vocalist, Jon Lundin, had this to say:

This song is about growing up in a small town where it wasn’t cool to be in the scene and love emo music and feeling like the black sheep, but deciding to say ‘f*ck it’ and live our truths and play what we love and what we’re good at. We stuck to our roots here and just wanted to bring the energy and angst back.

Mr. Theodore “Teddy” Bear

Oh my gosh! We haven’t even talked about the energetic and slightly chaotic music video yet! First of all, we love everything about it! The chaotic energy is what makes it so much fun to watch repeatedly, but if you consider the song’s meaning when you watch, it connects perfectly to the story Point North is trying to tell through the song. The bear in the video is just trying to sell his lemonade, but we can see the bullies run him over, steal his lemonade, and overall, exude rude behavior towards him. In the end, he gets his revenge by beating them up (an eye for an eye, we suppose). We don’t condone that type of behavior in real life but in this instance – it’s symbolic. They are getting their revenge the best way possible – by following their dreams and becoming successful. This song is their way of sticking up for themselves and fighting back against the haters. Suck it, bullies!

Check out the video below, buy lemonade from Mr. Theodore “Teddy” Bear (yeah, we named him, so what?), and then go stream the single here!

We aren’t in a badass rock band, but the message still resonates with us, and we are fully invested in making this the official song of summer! We can’t get enough of it! So much so that we’ll BRB! We’re going to tell everyone we know to stream this banger and get it the full recognition it deserves!
