One of the facts of life is that Katy Perry has known how to make a hit since day one of her career. She’s completely mastered the art of genuinely good pop music! She’s still making top-tier music today! ‘Electric’ was just released and it’s an absolute jam!

This track comes off of Pokémon 25: The Album. ‘Electric’ is such a fun song and we can see it being a hit with her audience as well as the younger audience Pokémon tends to have. It’s so bright and bubbly!

We thought it would be a good idea to discuss some of our all-time favorite Katy Perry tracks in celebration of the release of ‘Electric’!

‘I Kissed A Girl’

Obviously, this is a staple Katy Perry tack! It was the first song to completely catapult Katy into the superstar we know her as today. At the time the song was considered ‘risqué’. Now of course it’s definitely not taboo at all and is just considered one of the all-time best pop songs. ‘I Kissed A Girl is always on every party playlist and still is just as much of a jam as the day it was released.

Plus Kesha is in the music video! We love to see it!

‘Hot N Cold’

Yes, we had to put another One of The Boys songs on this list. And no, it’s not the last! You still can’t attend any party or see any list of the best music from the 2000s without ‘Hot N Cold’ being in that conversation. And rightfully so! It’s so catchy and such a perfect representation of the best pop music of the time. Just to be clear we have changed three times today, and also have changed our minds that many times, so Katy did have a point with the opening line to this track.

‘Waking Up In Vegas’

We have woken up in Las Vegas and immediately played this song and we have to say, it’s a next-level experience. We weren’t 21+ yet so we will for sure have to go back and get into even more shenanigans with this as the backing track to our hangovers! ‘Waking Up In Vegas’ is truly the best track on One of The Boys despite not being the most commercially successful on the record. It’s stood the test of time, as every Katy record has. And the acoustic version? Absolutely insane!

‘Never Really Over’

This is one of the newest Katy Perry songs that we genuinely think holds its own with her iconic tracks of the past. It’s so representative of modern pop and just makes you want to get up and move. It’s definitely our favorite track from Smile! Which if you’ve listened to that record you know what a bright, genuinely fun record it is!

‘Firework’

We do indeed feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind.

‘Firework’ is arguably one the most recognizable songs to our generation. It’s such a joyous uplifting track that always can shift our mood instantly. Everything about the track is so incredibly beautiful and we know it means so much to people. We will forever associate this track with all of the best vibes!

‘Teenage Dream’

We think this genuinely might be one of the most iconic tracks of all time. Everyone knows this song and everyone has yelled the lyrics at the top of their lungs. It makes for the absolute perfect song to blast while driving down highway 101 in California. We truly don’t see a time we will get tired of this track, it’s timeless.
