We’re longtime fans of Darren Criss! He’s been lighting up our tv screens and beautifully coming through our headphones for years! No matter if you found him through the hit tv show Glee or if you’re here from Broadway or just jumping on board, we can all agree he’s an immense talent.
His solo music so far has all been so different, it’s just showing what we already know, there’s nothing Darren Criss can’t do.
‘I Can’t Dance’ is a track we’ve interpreted in a bunch of different ways. Obviously, you can take it quite literally. You could just assume it’s a track about not being able to dance. However, knowing Darren and his background like we’ve come to we don’t think that’s the full story. Trust us, stream ‘I Can’t Dance’ here, now!
To us, ‘I Can’t Dance’ takes on the meaning of not being able to be a puppet in this Hollywood machine. Not being able to please everyone and finally just exploding and telling them you can’t dance on command anymore. We could be way off in this theory but hey, music is meant to be interpreted and to take on many lives once it’s out.
Darren Criss has revived disco with this track. The late 70’s and early 80’s vibes are just immaculate. We are basically on the edge of our seats at the moment just patiently waiting for what a full-length album or EP will sound like from Darren. We are going to be playing this song all too loud at clubs this summer and voguing and living our best life. Everybody say thank you, Darren Criss.
