Kasabian 2.0 Is Coming To Town

Things we expect the least sometimes take us by surprise. Following the statement from Kasabian’s frontman, Tom Meighan, fans all thought it was the end of an iconic rock band. This weekend, Sergio Pizzorno and the rest of the group took to the media and announced their comeback with a fresh new line-up. Kasabian will start over and promise an intimate UK tour for shows never seen before. Let’s reminisce on some of their classic performances to set up the mood!

Kasabian has had several nominations at the Brits culminated with their award win for Best British Group in 2010. That year, they offered the public a ‘Fire’ performance. The track, taken from their third album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, is an explosive rock’n’roll blues piece. Relive their pyrotechnical and energetic performance here!

The festival season is coming soon and it reminds us how Kasabian is a live stage beast. With their early baggy era sound as The Stone Roses, mixed with modern blues-rock as The Black Keys, the Leicester gang keeps mesmerizing us. On ‘L.S.F’ back at T In The Park in 2007, the band captured the essence of a great live performance. The crowd delivers these iconic chorus chants and the brilliant instrumentation is floating under the sunset. Perfect!

Serge Pizzorno started his solo project, The S.L.P, in 2019 and since continues to write amazing songs. With this surprise tour, it is teased that Kasabian’s coming up with new songs, so we’re wondering if we will still have the heavy rock stomps or if the songs will be more melancholic. Only time will tell! Meanwhile, watch Serge perform on The Russell Howard Channel. We absolutely fell in love with those delicate sounds inspired by the ‘Lockdown.’ Will Kasabian 2.0 follow this sound? Who knows!
