It has been 20 years since the release of Alicia Keys’ debut album Songs In A Minor, and we have every intention to celebrate the anniversary with style. We knew this ‘Woman’s Worth’ the moment she stepped into business, and we have known it ever since!
Remember Songs In A Minor, a debut album from an insanely talented 20-year-old woman, released on June 5, 2001, that broke records like we break nuts? Yeah, that one.
The history-making, diamond-certified, and Grammy award-winning album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, and the lead single ‘Fallin’ reigned over the no. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 for six whole weeks. Also, earning a rightful name under the deeply thirsted after Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade list, this very album turned Alicia Keys into the immortal name etched on the hearts of every music enthusiast. Including our own!
Are You Ready For Songs In A Minor 2.0?
In commemoration of 20 years of this transcendent album, RCA Records/Legacy Recordings is releasing a special 20th Anniversary Edition, and you need to keep your eyes out for this one because it will be featuring two unreleased bonus tracks, ‘Foolish Heart’ and ‘Crazy (Mi Corazon)’ by Alicia Keys, from the original recordings. And that is just the beginning!
The album will be digitally available on June 4th, and because we chose to stan the best ‘Girl On Fire’ out there- the Gods have blessed us.
This deluxe version of the album will further include ‘Fallin – ALI Soundtrack Version’ and ‘I Won’t (Crazy World)’ previously available on the 10th Anniversary Physical Deluxe, now available to stream for the very first time! Call us hasty, but we’re already out to gush about this. Can you blame us, anyway?
Pre-order and pre-save the album right here.
And for those of you who stick to old school, Alicia has remembered you as well. A specially packaged, limited quantity 2LP version will also be out available at Alicia Keys’ artist store. We’re looking at a vintage vinyl blended in hues of black and green with pop-up art, that comes with special custom packaging along the lines of the original album.
Okay, we are just going to run at this point to grab this, and there might be aggression in the waiting queue, so you’ve been warned. Think of the extra special doughnut with your favorite sprinkles because this is just that! Pre-order here!
Vinyl Me Please will also be reissuing a standard version of Songs In A Minor of this limited edition aesthetic vinyl that you can pre-order here! See how you’re in for a win-win yet?

We Might Get Old, But Alicia Keys Never Will
This party was kicked off by the queen herself last week at the Billboard Music Awards, where once again, she did what she does best. She took our breath away – if you didn’t already know that answer.
Introduced by Michelle Obama, and performing her smashing hits from the album, like ‘Piano & I,’ ‘How Come You Don’t Call Me,’ ‘A Woman’s Worth,’ with a blazing, dramatic rendition of our all-time favorite single ‘Fallin,’ Alicia has just reminded us why we’re so obsessed with her. And we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Catch the performance right here:
