10 years ago, ATL released their third album on June 6, 2011. Following the extremely successful release of their third album, Nothing Personal, Dirty Work introduced a whole new vibe for the band.
Evolution of All Time Low
As fans grew up with the band, their music evolved as well. Dirty Work was a pivotal release for the band. The album was different from everything they’ve put out prior, and it holds a special place in our hearts.
The riffs have us dancing and the lyrics have us all singing at the top of our lungs. It’s safe to say that the vibes of this album are contagious. How could you not jam out when you hear ‘That Girl?’ Even after 10 years, we still find ourselves singing along to every word on ‘Do You Want Me (Dead?)!’
“Party Like It’s My Civil Right!“
The guys also showed us that they could make tracks fit for the dance floor. Adorned with a fitting title, ‘I Feel Like Dancin’ is a single that got tons of love for all the right reasons! The lyrics are carefree and extremely catchy. The official music video was released on May 18, 2011, as one of the singles from Dirty Work. Poking fun at some aspects of the music industry, the satirical video is a fan favorite!
But the guys didn’t fail to integrate their pop-punk roots into the album as well. ‘Heroes’ is a pop-punk masterpiece! From Rian’s drumming to the strumming on the verses, we can’t help but rock out to this one. Not to mention, the breakdown portion is incredible. We highly recommend you check it here!
“We’re Like A Time Bomb“
The third and final single experienced the most popularity out of all the songs on the record. I mean, the soft strumming transitions perfectly to the chorus! The official music video for ‘Time Bomb’ was released on November 30, 2011, and currently has over 21 million views on Youtube!
‘No Idea’ is the perfect love ballad. From the spacey guitar to the soft cymbals in the back, the track is softer but something that we can all rock out to. And, do we even have to mention the lyrics? Everything about this song is beautiful and makes it one of our favorites off of Dirty Work.
“Get a grip / Slip and trip / Over clumsy careless / Words, words, words / Paper-thin fingerprints/ Under softly spoken/ Verse, verse, verse.“
The band showed us their versatility with this record. From the arena bangers to the ballads, Dirty Work introduced us to so many new sounds from the guys. Moving onto ten years, we can’t help but revisit this record and appreciate All Time Low’s evolution. The band released their eighth album, Wake Up, Sunshine, in the Spring of 2020. The album experienced great success and stays true to its guitar-driven sound. While the guys continue to put out music, we will always remember the classics they’ve put out all this time!
Dirty Work will continue to be the timeless record that it has proved to be. Many of us have grown up with the band and their music. We can’t wait for the future and how far the guys will continue to go!
