‘Raise Your Glass’ as YONAKA have a brand new single and just announced a new mixtape!

Great news for fans of alternative rock music- YONAKA have released their brand new single ‘Raise Your Glass,’ along with news of a brand new eight-track mixtape coming next month!

This year has been an exciting one for the Brighton based band. After not releasing any new music since the huge success of their debut album Don’t Wait Til Tomorrow in 2019, YONAKA finally released new music earlier this year. And it was seriously worth the wait! ‘Seize The Power’ was the first of the songs released, racking up over half a million views on YouTube in just over four months. This empowering song was only the beginning of YONAKA’s plans for this year and shares its name with the mixtape that’s set to be released in July.

This week, YONAKA premiered this latest single ‘Raise Your Glass’ on the UK hit radio show, BBC Radio One. Just like previous singles ‘Call Me A Saint’ and ‘Ordinary,’ this song is very empowering and is incredible at showcasing lead vocalist Theresa Jarvis’s soaring vocals. The rapturous chorus captivates the listener and is overall a feel-good song. This track seems like one that fans will love when live music returns as its uplifting lyrics make you want to scream along.

The Mixtape

Along with the new single, YONAKA announced their highly anticipated new mixtape named Seize The Power. This body of work, which was produced entirely by the band, will be released on July 15 and will contain eight tracks. The mixtape will also contain collaborations with Jason Butler of FEVER 333 and Barns Courtney. Seize The Power explores themes such as empowerment, hopefulness and acceptance, which to us sounds like an incredible record that is much needed in the music industry. We can’t wait to hear all of the songs!

“Seize The Power is a collection of songs to empower you. We all possess the power within but through life, we are always put down by others, told to be quiet and not express ourselves; this makes us less confident and we lose ourselves. I wanted to take back control and yes, I’m not in control all the time but when I’m there I’m untouchable. This is a wake up call. Anyone can be anything they put their mind to. Be who you want! Everything up until now has lead to this moment so take the moment and make it yours and enjoy it.”

With the announcement, the band also released vinyl for this mixtape which sold out in just 90 minutes! Just like us, the fans are hyped for new music! But don’t panic, you can still pre-save it here so you’ll hear it the second it comes out!

Upcoming YONAKA Live Performances

YONAKA will also be performing at the Download Festival pilot event this Saturday. We envy all the people with tickets that get to hear all of the new songs live for the first time. As a band that has already supported Bring Me The Horizon, they are no strangers to putting on an insanely energetic and raucous show that you’ll never forget!
