One of our favourite duos here at The Honey POP is Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker. Everything they create together is unforgettable and their latest release doesn’t disappoint!
After the release of the Amazon Prime series Paradise City, the soundtrack has been slowly making its way to onto our playlists. And wow, is it a good one! With artists like Palaye Royale and Sleeping with Sirens already on the track-list, you know it’s going to be incredible! The most recent release from the soundtrack is an intense cover of ‘A Girl Like You’ which was covered by MGK and Travis Barker.
The original song that was sung by artist Edwyn Collins in an upbeat and fun song to listen to. After putting their own pop-punk spin on it, MGK and Travis created a more eerie yet electrifying feel to the song. Slowing it down and adding a harsh melody, it makes this song sound completely new. MGK’s vocals are hypnotizing and the entire song is super captivating. Unlike the original, it makes the song sound almost menacing which we’re here for!
Listen to ‘A Girl Like You’ by MGK and Travis Barker here!
Travis Barker and Machine Gun Kelly have been working together since way before the pandemic and have given us many reasons to smile during one of the hardest times the world has faced. After releasing projects like ‘I Think I’m Okay’ featuring Yungblud, ‘Love Race‘ with Kellin Quinn, and the entire Tickets To My Downfall album, we’re convinced the duo really can’t make a bad song. We love seeing them work together and cannot wait to see what else they have in store for us in the future!
If you haven’t had enough MGK yet then you’ll be pleased to hear that he’s going on tour! The pop-punk/rap performer will be touring in the US this fall and it’s one you don’t want to miss. As well as a headline tour, Kells will also be attending many festivals this summer all across the world. Tickets for all shows can be bought here so get yours now before they sell out!
