2021 Pure Noise Tour announced headliners State Champs with support from Four Year Strong, Real Friends, Just Friends, and Bearings.
Pure Noise Records provides homes to some of the finest punk rock around. Indulging in genres of hardcore, metalcore, alt-rock, post-hardcore, and our personal favorite pop-punk. This indie label found its start in 2009. Founded by Jake Round, the label has everything from your more obscure bands to main-stagers and everything excellent in between.
Knowing that Pure Noise holds the key to so many magical acts, we find it not surprising but still equally climactic that the 2021 Pure Noise Tour is stacked with some incredibly insane acts. While you may know some, many, or all of the bands on the bill, we can promise your in for an epic show. So if you’re wondering what to expect, we’re here to give you a rundown of each of the acts and letting you decide which you want to see most (maybe it’s all of them, maybe it’s Bearings.)
Starting off strong, we’ve got the quintet from Ontario, Canada, Bearings. And while we might be partial, there’s no denying this band rocks. It’s a fact. A sharpened sound, and a creation of classic pop-punk vibes, they’re everything we want in a band. Compiled by vocalist Doug Cousins, guitarists Ryan Culligan and Ryan Fitz, bassist Collin Hanes, and drummer Mike McKerracher, the band combines old-school and new-school influence to bear a sound that is all their own. Providing an outpour of emotion into it, their sophomore full-length Hello, It’s You put them even more on the radar of pop-punk lovers across the grid. We’ll surely be swaying along during their set.
Listen to: ‘Eyes Closed,’ ‘So Damn Wrong,’ ‘Letters Home,’ ‘Better Yesterday’

Two words, Funk-Punk. Bringing a style that’s all their own to this show, Just Friends comes collectively from the Cali Bay Area. To use words to explain just won’t do, as hearing them live is the only way to understand the energy that emerges. Home to horns, guitars, and bright, brilliant co-vocals (and selective shouting!) from Sam Kless and Briana Goyos León, Just Friends is a genre celebration. Incorporating all types of music elements from punk to brass, hip-hop, emo, and even funk, this group will get you on your feet and keep you there!
Listen to: ‘Never Gonna Bring You Down’, ‘Welcome Mats’, ‘I Wanna Love You’, ‘Stupid’
[apple_music_ad artist=”Real Friends”]
If you’re no newbie to the pop-punk scene, then we’re certain you’re familiar with Real Friends. But if so? No worries, we’ll give you the low down. A band since 2010, things have changed, but not their overall mission. Writing songs that are bound to make you cry, they’ve landed upon every emotion we’ve ever felt, we never want to, and every single one in between. Unapologetically themselves, they’ve coined a sound that has forged loyal listeners and has become a part of pop punk itself. Newly signed to Pure Noise, the band also welcomes vocalist Cody Muraro (read more about that here), and we are for it!
Listen to: ‘Storyteller,’ ‘Get By,’ ‘I Don’t Love You Anymore,’ ‘Skin Deep.’
Four Year Strong
[apple_music_ad artist=”Four Year Strong”]
Absolute OGs, New England rockers Four Year Strong have always made music that drives us mad. Formed of (as previously referred to by us) four absolute foxes: Dan O’Connor (vocals/guitar), Alan Day (vocals/guitar), Joey Weiss (bass), and Jake Massucco (drums), they seem to like to make us wait. The five-year period between Enemy Of The World and Brain Pain is one we don’t want to endure again. DO YOU HEAR US?! Most recently, FYS released BRNPN RMX, which delivered a collection of remixed tracks from the latest album released in 2020 via Pure Noise. We don’t care what they decide to play on this tour, as long as we’re there to hear it.
Listen To: ‘Wasting Time,’ ‘It Must Really Suck To Be Four Year Strong Right Now,’ ‘We All Float Down Here’

Finally, heavy-hitting headliners State Champs. Straight outta Albany, NY using scrappy pop-punk spirit to create an evolved sound. Elevating themselves to a whole new level of artistry, this band has played everything from pop-arena tours, metal tours to dive bars and DIY. Genuine, down-to-earth, and purely passionate their tunes turn out. Members Derek DiScanio (Vocals), Tyler Szalkowski (Guitar), Ryan Scott Graham (Bass), and Evan Ambrosio (Drums) released their latest EP State Champs Unplugged in the summer of 2020 via Pure Noise. A compilation of four 2021 Pure Noise Tour new songs and two fan favorites, they did themselves (and us, of course) proud. With an outpour of heart, soul, and sincerity State Champs earns the title for versatile pop-punk.
Listen To: ‘Remedy,’ ‘Secrets,’ ‘Dead and Gone,’ ‘All Or Nothing.’
