Do you often ask yourself which track you hear when you watch a series on your television or streaming apps? We are constantly wondering what song is showcased in memorable scenes and keep these in mind. For The Linda Lindas, it’s easy. Make pop-punk bangers and get in high-profile tv shows. Once in Amy Poehler’s Moxie!, they unveiled the song ‘Oh’ as featured on Netflix’s The Chair.
Celebrate The Diversity!
The Linda Lindas’ ‘Oh’ is the peak of their journey sound tracking new shows and documentaries. Who grew up reading The Babysitters Club books and watched the movie and series? We did! The pop-punk band celebrated Claudia Kishi, the Japanese American character that partly defined the show. They made a shiny energetic song that appeared on the documentary The Claudia Kishi Club back in 2020. If you liked the vibes of VIAL on our latest THP feature, you’ll be hooked to the stargazing guitars and the loud drums.
‘Oh’ Punk, Let’s Rock On!
Punk is not dead and The Linda Lindas’ ‘Oh’ is there to remind us. Should it be dark and depressing? No way! The girls bring us fun, positivity and glam in their pseudo photoshoot colorful film. We’d love to see them play a punk fest, just like on our dream Vans Warped Tour line-up! Fierce like Hayley Williams, the young band’s sense of melody is catchy as hell.
It Hits Like A Bang!
This is evidence that this powerful track could be part of a soundtrack and thumbs up to the producer of The Chair because it suits their trailer so well. Starring Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve‘s Sandra Oh, the series ventures through the life of fictional character Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim. She faces various challenges with being the first woman on the scene as English Department headmaster in a prestigious university, and we see her dealing with hard relationships with other colleagues, as a person of color. ‘Oh’ is that bang the world needs to live in a better future, like the story of the new Netflix show.
