RED ALERT! We have an urgent musical update for you. You need to listen to Candyland: Part 1 and Candyland: Part 2 by Aryia ASAP! What was that? Who is Aryia? Perhaps we’re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves. Aryia is an artist that we’re dubbing as one of THP’s Ones To Watch and for good reason! The LA-based singer has released some incredible music and we just have to share it with you. ‘Mulholland Drive’ is one of our personal favorites, but today we’re here to highlight Aryia’s latest release Candyland, which you can (and should) stream right here.

Candyland: Part 1 & Part 2

Everything about Candyland, from the songs to the visuals, is so sick. Aryia’s vocals are perfect for the pop-punk/emo sound he embodies in his music and his personal aesthetic. In fact, he does a lot of pop-punk covers on his TikTok. This one is one of our favorites:

That pop-punk/emo sound is prevalent throughout Candyland. In fact, ‘Post Traumatic Apathy & Misery’ gives us major Green Day vibes, which is pretty cool. One of the best (in our opinion) songs on the album is ‘Trash.’ The vocals, the meaning, the endless amounts of TikToks we got from Aryia with this song as the audio, everything about it is perfect. The open lines of the song will have you hooked and the chorus is catchy as hell. It’s the kind of track that we can picture ourselves screaming along with in the car, which is our favorite kind of track to listen to. ‘Trash’ has a different sound compared to ‘Post Traumatic Apathy & Misery,’ it’s more contemporary pop-punk versus the former’s classic pop-punk feel. Oh, and we can’t forget to mention the title track ‘Candyland,’ which takes the complete opposite direction and features Aryia venturing into screamo. You know what that’s called? Range. It’s called range. He pulls off these different but overlapping sounds so well and it makes for such an enjoyable listening experience.

So what’s next for Aryia?

We can tell how hard Aryia worked on Candyland. The aesthetic and concept of this era are so amazing and it’s not over yet! Part 3 comes out at the end of the month and we’re so stoked to see what’s in store. Can we start a GoFundMe to get the movie for Part 2 and Part 3? We need to see it!

So how did we do? Have we convinced you to stan Aryia yet? We just know that he’s going to make it big and we’re stoked to be along for the ride. If you need us, we’ll be jamming out to ‘Trash’ while waiting for the rest of Candyland to drop. What do you think of the album? Do you have a favorite track?
