In less than two weeks since its release, Clairo’s latest album Sling has already soared to the top of the charts. It debuted at #1 on Billboard Alternative Albums Chart, #2 on Top Rock Albums Chart, and Top 20 on Top 200 Chart. We couldn’t be more proud.
It’s easy to see why Sling is getting so much love. On this sophomore album via FADER Label/Republic Records, Clairo abandons the upbeat, bedroom pop sound that defined earlier projects like diary 001 and Immunity. Here, she opts for guitar, piano, and emotionally mature lyrics. Unsurprisingly, Clairo’s voice is the glue that binds the album together. Her hushed, intimate vocals draw us into the world she has crafted in each track.
To bring us this beautiful collection of songs, Clairo teamed up with producer Jack Antonoff, who has previously collaborated with Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey. One of Sling‘s highlights is ‘Blouse,’ which captures a moment in which words can’t communicate what needs to be said. Clairo recently performed ‘Blouse’ on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Sling marks the highest album charting debut for the young artist, who has already sold out headlining tours and performed at Coachella and Lollapalooza. Next year Clairo will return to the stage on a North American tour, so get your tickets before they’re gone.
