Binge-Worthy Buzz: What’s Buzzing This Week

Hello, honeybees, how are you? Welcome back to another edition of Binge-Worthy Buzz, our weekly series where we list some recommendations of things to watch during the week. With so much stuff coming out every week, it can be pretty hard to choose what to watch next. That’s why we’re here! Now, let’s dive in!

Cooking With Paris

Paris Hilton. In a kitchen. Cooking with special guests including Kim Kardashian, Demi Lovato, and Nikki Glaser. Need we say more? Probably not, but we’re going to anyway. Netflix’s newest reality show comes out on August 4 and we’re sure it’ll be one of the most fun ones ever! Netflix already has a history of successful reality shows, and Cooking With Paris is sure to be their next big hit.

Mr. Corman

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s return to TV couldn’t be better. He is the writer, director, producer and the main character in Mr. Corman, the story of a failed musician turned fifth-grade teacher in San Fernando Valley. The first three episodes of Apple TV’s newest 10-episode dramedy become available on Friday, August 6, with new episodes coming out every week after that. This show has everything we love: the complex main character, tragic backstory, and a great cast, including Arturo Castro, Debra Winger, Logic, Juno Temple, and Jamie Chung.

The Suicide Squad

Everyone remembers the first Suicide Squad from 2016, right? Well, it is now five years later and the team of antiheroes is finally getting a sequel (which is also being described as pretty much a reboot as well)! Some familiar faces return, like Margot Robbie and Viola Davis, at the same time that we have Idris Elba, John Cena, and Peter Capaldi joining the cast. Oh, and James Gunn is the director this time. The Suicide Squad will be coming to both theatres and HBO Max this Friday, August 6.

Who else loves Lin-Manuel Miranda? Everything he does is pure gold. Hamilton, In The Heights, Moana, and those are just a handful of examples, we could talk about him all day. But today, we’re talking specifically about Vivo, a new animated movie set to release on Netflix on Friday, August 6. Lin and Gloria Estefan are the heads of an awesome voice cast who will tell us the story of a kinkajou going from Cuba to Miami. In musical form, because you can’t have Lin-Manuel Miranda on your cast and not have it be a musical.

Short Circuit – Season 2

Do you know what our favorite thing about Disney+ is? How it’s finding ways to give new storytellers a voice. We’ve seen it with Launchpad before, and now, we’ll see it once more with the second season of Short Circuit. On August 4, a new set of five shorts will hit Disney+ for our viewing pleasure. The first season was really cute and we’re sure the second one will be too. We also love how each short is a completely different animation style.
