Diary Of A Future President

As we mentioned earlier, we’re super hyped to see Elena Cañero-Reed back on Disney+. The future President of the United States is here once again to tell us more about her journey to the White House, and we cannot wait to see how this new year of her middle school career will bring. We are also really happy to see Gina Rodriguez back as the grown-up version of Elena, and this time, she is also showing up as 13-year-old Elena’s conscience. And that’s not even mentioning everything else that we see in the trailer, such as Elena’s best friend, Sasha, having a boyfriend, her mom’s boyfriend moving in with her family, etc. A week from now, on August 18, all episodes will be available for streaming on Disney+.

Respect

If you love music, then you have to know who Aretha Franklin is. The Queen of Soul has her story told in a beautiful movie starring Jennifer Hudson, Forrest Whitaker, Audra McDonald, among many other amazing people. August 13 is the day the story of Aretha Franklin hits theatres, taking us from her days singing in church all the way to her current status as a legend in the history of music. We look forward to watching Respect as soon as possible.

Marvel’s What If… ?

Marvel fans, it is time to assemble once again. After WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and Black Widow, we now have another show to obsess over: What If…?, where we’ll explore some of the possibilities of the Multiverse. August 11 will bring us the first episode of the animated series, with a new episode becoming available on Disney+ every Wednesday. Man, are we thrilled to see these characters again!

Brooklyn 99

We all need one of those feel-good shows that make us laugh and fall in love with well-developed characters at the same time. And Brooklyn 99 definitely falls into that category. If you’ve watched all the seasons so far, you know what we’re talking about. If you haven’t, do yourself a favor and go watch this awesome group of New York police officers be crazy and solve crimes together. As we speak, the show is about to enter its final season (we’re not crying, we swear), with the first episode of season 8 coming on August 12. So we’d say this is the perfect time to watch it and fall in love with it before it ends.

Outer Banks

Outer Banks’ first season came out last year and the second one just dropped on Netflix a couple of weeks ago. Following a group of teens from North Carolina trying to solve the mystery of their leader’s father’s disappearance. Along the way, the group also finds more information on a legendary treasure. We binged the show in a matter of days, and we’re sure that’s what will happen if you watch it as well.

Bo Burnham: Inside

During the insane year that was 2020, a lot of things happened, including a lot of creative people having lots of time in their hands. Among those people is comedian Bo Burnham. He wrote, filmed, and starred in a comedy special currently available on Netflix that you should definitely check out. Bo Burnham: Inside is a funnier way to look at everything we’ve been through, and we’re living for it! Also, we can’t get the songs out of our heads.

And these have been our top choices this week. Tell us what you think in the comments or tweet us @TheHoneyPOP!

Keep up with the latest binge-worthy watches here!
