Hello honeybees, and welcome to another edition of Binge-Worthy Buzz, our weekly series where we give you some of the best recommendations for your viewing pleasure. With so many new movies and TV shows coming out every week, it may be difficult to keep up and figure out what to watch, but that’s what we’re here for! So let’s dive in!
Chance the Rapper’s concert film Magnificent Coloring World
We love to see concert films. They can take us on an amazing journey through the eyes of the extremely talented artists we love so much. So when we heard that Chance the Rapper’s concert film was coming to theatres, we went a little bit insane. Since August 13, the movie has been in cinemas all over the US, and you can find out the closest screening to you here.
One of our favorite things Disney has been doing these last few years is giving some characters, especially its villains, their own amazing movies. And Cruella is no exception. Set in 1970s London, this is the origin story of one of Disney’s best-known villains. Good news if you enjoy collecting movies: on September 21, the limited edition SKUs of Cruella are set to retail exclusively at Walmart, Best Buy, and Target. Some bonus features will be deleted scenes, bloopers, behind-the-scenes featurettes, interviews, fun facts, and more. But until those become available, you can watch the movie on Disney+ and have fun seeing Emma Stone bring Cruella to life.
Growing Up Animal
Disney+‘s newest six-episode original series will do a deep dive into the birth and early days of different animal species. We can feel the cuteness overload coming! And all of that narrated by Tracee Ellis Ross. All six one-hour-long episodes will be available for streaming on August 18. Watch it and thank us after you’ve seen the baby elephants, lions, sea lions, among other cute animals.
If you love a good period piece, this is for you! Netflix‘s newest addition to their catalog tells the story of American police officer Max McLoughlin going to Berlin to find his missing brother. While in Berlin, he meets and helps Elsie Garter, a German policewoman, in establishing a new police force after World War II. The Defeated drops on Netflix on August 18. Excuse us while we get the popcorn ready.
We love a good anthology series. And a good romance. And Modern Love is both of those things. Each episode is the story of a different relationship, connection, revelations, etc. And here’s the best part: they’re all inspired by true stories. We loved the first season and the second one just got to Amazon Prime, so please, if you enjoy this kind of story, go give it a watch, you won’t regret it!
