Guess what! The Proud Family is getting louder and prouder with some special celebrity guest stars! If for some reason you don’t know about the Disney Channel cartoon sitcom, we’ll catch you up to speed. The Proud Family centers around the Proud family (duh!) specifically Penny Proud, a typical teenage girl dealing with high school drama, friendship, dating, and the inevitable problem of butting heads with her parents. The cartoon was a memorable classic being as the characters were not only entertaining and reliable to watch, but the show also addressed social issues like racism and sexism.

Because of all these things combined, we are excited to see our favorite family along with Penny and her friends, both new and old, back on screen in the reboot, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. With the added new cast of recurring characters such as Penny’s boyfriend, Kareem voiced by Asante Black from This Is Us, and her new activist friend Maya voiced by Keke Palmer, we are super hyped to see some of our celebrities faves like Chance the Rapper and Normani pop in the show!
Guest Stars Who Can’t Contain The Hype
Like us, these guest stars are just as excited to be a part of the reboot. Our girl Lizzo, for example, took to Twitter after the cast list announcement made by Disney. She’s been waiting for this one, and we can’t wait to hear her voice when the show airs finally!

Moreover, Normani—our queen!—will also be a guest star in the show! On Twitter, she expressed how much being a part of the show meant to her, especially since she’s been waiting for this for her whole life.
I have literally been waiting for this my whole childhood and adult lifeee 😭😭😭😭🥺🙏🏾✨ GLORY https://t.co/AIxnND2SgG

Also, who can forget Lil’ Nas X? He is on there too! Heck yes! With the announcement, Lil’ Nas X cracked a joke about his performance possibly receiving an Academy Award after, and you know what? With the way his TikToks are, it just might!
i would like to thank the academy for my award in advance https://t.co/234dUPVF2y
