James Arthur can do no wrong, he has the voice of an angel and keeps writing music that breaks our hearts then puts them right back together. We’ve been falling in love with his music for years, and he’s back with his newest track, ‘Emily.’ ‘Emily’ is an ode to the daughter he may have in the future, and hails from his upcoming album It’ll All Make Sense In The End, which we can expect on November 5th! To celebrate the release of ‘Emily,’ we had to count down our five favorite James Arthur songs, it was a must.

After hearing ‘Emily’ for the first time we knew we had to include the track in this list. When James Arthur has kids someday they will be able to look back and see how much love, nerves, and excitement he has towards being a dad. We can not get over how heartwarming ‘Emily’ is, it would make the perfect father-daughter dance song at a wedding.
That arose from conversations about having kids. Would I even be a good dad? What if they read about all the shit I’ve been through? It doesn’t matter because ultimately I’m the guy who’s going to be there for you all your lifeJames Arthur
‘Say You Won’t Let Go’
Okay hear us out, we know ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ is the most popular James Arthur song. But it’s for good reason! Popularity doesn’t always mean overhyped, like in this incidence that’s certainly not the case. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ has some of the most beautiful vocal moments, and lyrics that have always cut deep.
We still get goosebumps whenever we hear “then you smiled over your shoulder, for a minute I was stone-cold sober.”
‘Can I Be Him’
We don’t remember when we first heard ‘Can I Be Him’ but it had an instant impact on us. Each lyric feels like it could have been ripped straight from a journal page of ours. The longing, the desperation, it’s all so relatable. Plus, when you have James Arthur with his silky smooth vocals, everything he sings sounds like pure magic.
Maybe we’re just in a constant fall state of mind. But ‘September’ is our absolute favorite James Arthur song. The lyrical content tells a story of love in its purest form. We feel single after listening to ‘September’ but it’s worth it, and it’s beautiful to think about a love like this existing somewhere out there.
Anyone who’s ever struggled with the recovery process in any form will relate all too much to ‘Recovery.’ We aren’t ashamed to say we’ve cried a time or two to this track, it just really hits close to home. If you want a good cry while listening to James’s beautiful voice, this is the song for you.
