We Know What It ‘Feels Like’ to Be in Love With Gracie Abrams’ Music

Some of our favorite stars are fans of Gracie Abrams’ work, including Olivia Rodrigo and Tate McRae, and it’s totally obvious why! Gracie pours so much of her heart into each song she writes, including her new track ‘Feels Like,’ a celebration of love, friendship, and Harry Styles.

Gracie explained to MTV, “My best friend and I lived in New York. We went to college at the same time in the city, and when the Harry Styles fanfiction movie came out, the nearest city they were playing it in was Fairfield, Connecticut. So the song is about the time that we took the train to Fairfield, just to watch the Harry Styles fanfic movie.”

The book-turned-movie in question is After, which draws inspiration from a Harry fic that author Anna Todd posted on Wattpad. A fan even gave Gracie a copy at a show this month knowing how much she enjoyed it:

While the love in After may have been a thrilling romance, ‘Feels Like’ is an adorable ode to a long-lasting friendship and the importance of being there for the ones who stick by you. Gracie co-wrote the song with her longtime collaborator Blake Slatkin, who also co-wrote her hit ‘I Miss You, I’m Sorry,’ as well as Omer Fedi, who’s best known for his work on 24kGoldn and iann dior’s ‘Mood,’ along with Machine Gun Kelly’s Tickets to My Downfall album.

We hope her creative friendship with Blake and Omer lasts forever because this song is seriously addicting! The gentle piano, in the beginning, is mesmerizing, the harmonies during the chorus are beautiful, and the lyrics are the sweetest. Where do we sign up to be Gracie’s bestie and get such a cute song written about us?
