If you’re a fan of bold pop stars like Doja Cat and Ariana Grande, Erika Tham should definitely be on your radar! The multi-talented Malaysian-Canadian just dropped her sleek debut single, ‘Admit It,’ and we at THP have had it on repeat since our first listen. It’s the perfect mix of confidence and regretful feelings, showing off Erika’s versatility over a trap-tinged beat accented with Asian instruments as a nod to her culture.
“‘Admit It’ is what I wish I could’ve said to someone that I was watching fall in love with me when I knew I didn’t feel the same,” Erika explains. “It’s an honest conversation with myself and him; admitting my faults and hesitations when it comes to love. I’m sorry I let it get this far and that I let you think I was the one. ‘Pardon my seduction, I’ll pardon your assumptions.’”
‘Admit It’ is the perfect addition to all your pop playlists, and while it’ll fit right in, it will also stand out. There’s something really fresh about ‘Admit It’ that we’re so happy Erika gave us! It’d be a great soundtrack for late-night car rides, hanging out with friends, or even just hanging out in your room.
Before Erika made her thrilling musical debut this month, she was an actress who you may have seen onscreen! She was one of the leads on Nickelodeon’s Make It Pop from 2015 to 2016, played Kim’s nemesis in Disney Channel’s Kim Possible movie in 2019, and appeared on Fox’s Star in 2019. She’s been in the spotlight since she was just 15, and we’re so excited that she finally gets to explore her love of music at 21.
We can’t wait to see what Erika Tham does next! In the meantime, let us know what you think of ‘Admit It’ in the comments below or on Twitter @TheHoneyPOP.
