We at THP have been eagerly waiting for the follow-up to Rihanna’s 2016 album ANTi, but she’s given us tons to celebrate since then! Between piloting her own brands, voyaging into the acting realm, and making stops at the most high-profile fashion events, no one’s putting in ‘Work’ like RiRi. Here are five surprises Rihanna has treated us to over the past five years!
All Her Old Albums On Vinyl
What’s better to do while waiting for new music than looking back at Rihanna’s eight iconic albums? From her 2005 Music of the Sun album to ANTi, it’s so cool to revisit her biggest hits and deep-cuts that deserved more recognition. To celebrate her accomplishments and give something fun to fans, RiRi made a limited-edition collection called the Rih-Issue, offering her first eight records on gorgeous colored vinyl. Each vinyl comes with an exclusive t-shirt or hoodie that complements the album’s aesthetic, and you can secure your copies here!
Her Savage X Fenty Brand
Rihanna made it a point to be inclusive when she launched her Savage X Fenty lingerie line in 2018, and we’re so inspired by how far she’s been able to take the brand. Every year she hosts a triumphant fashion show that combines music, colorful lighting, and fashion, as well as featuring some of our favorite stars. 2021’s show included the likes of Gigi Hadid, brand ambassador Normani, and Troye Sivan!
A String Of High-Profile Collabs
Even the music industry loves Rihanna! Over the past few years, she’s appeared on tracks like N.E.R.D.’s ‘Lemon,’ PartyNextDoor’s ‘Believe It,’ and Kendrick Lamar’s ‘LOYALTY.’ One of the most successful was ‘This Is What You Came For,’ a Calvin Harris collab that Taylor Swift wrote!
Co-Chairing The Met Gala
It’s no secret that Rihanna is a fashion icon, and her gig as a co-chair at the 2018 Met Gala just gave us further proof. The theme was Heavenly Bodies and she rocked a bedazzled bishop-inspired look by Margiela. She really took the lyric “shine bright like a diamond” literally while becoming the star of the show!
An Appearance In Ocean’s 8
Rihanna played the stylish hacker Nine Ball in Ocean’s 8, and we love that she’s gotten to explore her talents outside of music. She joined a powerful female cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Awkwafina, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sandra Bullock, and Sarah Paulson. Talk about star power!
