There’s nothing quite like the thrill of finding out two of your favorite artists worked together, and lucky for us, a ton of our faves hopped on songs together this month! November delivered some of our dream collabs as well as some sweet surprises we weren’t expecting. Here are 10 collabs we’ve adored this month!
Bryce Vine – ‘Empty Bottles’ (Featuring MOD SUN)
Bryce Vine and MOD SUN are truly a pop-punk match made in heaven. ‘Empty Bottles’ describes complex post-breakup feelings without feeling too heavy, making it a can’t-miss collab that your favorite playlist needs. We need to hear Bryce do more rock in the future!
My first memories of writing music were in my high school pop punk band. I’ve always tried to infuse the energy and spirit of punk into my writing and performance, even across other genres. Working with legendary producer John Feldmann (lead singer and guitarist of Goldfinger) on ‘Empty Bottles’ has felt like a return to my roots in the purest form. I’ve been a fan of MOD SUN for years and this collab between us feels like a childhood dream come true.Bryce Vine
FLETCHER – ‘Cherry’ (Featuring Hayley Kiyoko)
FLETCHER and Hayley Kiyoko deliver a sapphic pop bop with ‘Cherry,’ a playfully flirty track tinged with synths. We’ve been waiting for these ladies to collab for the longest time, and it was entirely worth the wait! We can’t get enough of their confidence and powerful WLW energy.
’Cherry’ is the prequel to my most recent single, ‘girls girls girls.’ It’s the curiosity you have about someone before you’re intimate with them and kind of wondering what it would be like. When I was creating it, I couldn’t get the idea out of my head of having Hayley Kiyoko on it. We then went into the studio together and made it a million times better. It’s a moment for the girls, gays, and theys.FLETCHER
SEEB – ‘Sweet Dreams & Dynamite’ (Featuring Nina Nesbitt)
SEEB is already one of our favorite musical duos, and the power is only amplified when you add Nina Nesbitt to the mix! The lyrics and Nina’s emotive vocals perfectly capture the feelings of a crumbling relationship, while SEEB’s 80s-esque production gives just the right nostalgic vibe to keep the song upbeat.
We’ve been looking for an opportunity to work with Nina ever since we heard ‘The Best You Had’ a few years ago. Then suddenly, out of the blue, she sent across a lovely piano ballad idea she had been working on and we immediately clicked with it and jumped all in. It really took on a direction of its own and we are really happy with how it turned out. Nina is a pleasure to work with and being from Swedish/Scottish parents we felt right at home from the start.SEEB
Sub Urban – ‘PARAMOUR’ (Featuring AURORA)
‘PARAMOUR’ has such a cool eerie vibe that only Sub Urban and AURORA could create! We should’ve known that one song with two of our favorite dark pop artists would’ve been this powerful, but we’re still blown away by the bold production and earworm melody. We also love how the strings at the end contrast the heavy-hitting beat and creepy tone!
Walk Off The Earth – ‘Hold On To Your Love’ (Featuring Phillip Phillips)
Just in time for Thanksgiving, Walk Off The Earth and Phillip Phillips show gratitude for loved ones and encourage hopeful thoughts on ‘Hold On To Your Love.’ It’s a sweet reminder that things will always get better when they feel difficult, and that there’s meaning in your future!
This song is about overcoming the fear of heartbreak and struggling to let go of past experiences. New people come into your life for a reason and can pull you out of that dark place, this song helps remind us of that.Walk Off The Earth
Masked Wolf & Bebe Rexha – ‘It’s You, Not Me (Sabotage)’
We never knew we needed Masked Wolf to hop on Bebe Rexha’s ‘Sabotage,’ but we’re forever grateful for ‘It’s You, Not Me!’ The song reimagines the chorus of Bebe’s song into an introspective hip-hop track that sounds like it belongs on a blockbuster movie soundtrack.
’It’s You, Not Me (Sabotage)’ is about standing up for yourself in a relationship. Rather than waiting to hear the old cliché “it’s me, not you,” this song is about confronting the situation and addressing it head-on by saying, “I know it’s you and I don’t want to be around this anymore.” As soon as I heard Bebe’s original, the verses just started to pour out and I knew I had to be on it.Masked Wolf
FKA Twigs – ‘Measure Of A Man’ (Featuring Central Cee)
No one’s delivering silky vocals quite like FKA Twigs, and we love the contrast between her soft voice and Central Cee’s confident rap! We can’t get enough of this cinematic track, which would sound like it belonged in a movie even if it wasn’t already set to do so. The song will appear in The King’s Man, which is set to hit theaters on December 22nd. Naturally, we’ll have it on the top of our playlists until we get to see the film.
This song has such a different sound which is a challenge, you’ve got to really embody the song. For me especially with my vocals, I had to pull a different side of my artistry out.FKA Twigs
Chloe Moriondo – ‘Dizzy’ (Featuring Thomas Headon And Alfie Templeman)
‘Dizzy’ is a sunny track that will bring light to even your darkest times! Chloe, Thomas, and Alfie are a trio we can’t get enough of, and we’re so happy they finally brought their iconic friendship to the next level with an official collab. Between the fun whistles and airy synths, you won’t be able to stop dancing around you room to this song.
It’s been super exciting to be on ‘Dizzy’ with Chloe and Alfie. They’re great friends of mine already so to now have a song with the three of us is so cool. It’s fun and feels new and is also just really catchy. We had a lot of fun making it and I can’t wait ‘til we can all play it together one day.Thomas Headon
WILLOW – ‘t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l’ (Featuring Travis Barker And Kid Cudi)
As if the star power between WILLOW and Travis wasn’t enough, they recruited Kid Cudi for this energetic remix of ‘t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l!’ Kid Cudi has been a longtime collaborator for both WILLOW (she appeared on his 2016 track ‘Rose Golden’) and her brother Jaden (Cudi hopped on his 2019 track ‘On My Own’). We can’t wait to see what other collabs they have up their sleeves!
I am so grateful for this song because it was created during such an introspective time during quarantine. The solitude allowed me to introspect and really let go of the insecurities I had about making a project in this genre. I am humbled and grateful that Kid Cudi is now able to bring his magic to this remix.WILLOW
HONNE – ‘THREE STRIKES’ (Featuring Khalid)
‘THREE STRIKES’ is such a vibe! Although we’re a little jealous HONNE and Khalid hung out without inviting us, we’ll forgive them if they promise to never take this song off streaming services. This is definitely a contender for our favorite song of the year, and we can’t wait to see what these two spectacular artists have in store for us in 2022.
