2021 has been quite the year for James Arthur. He released his fourth studio album, It’ll All Make Sense In The End, dropped a series of YouTube videos documenting behind-the-scenes content, tons of music videos, and now just in time for us to get into the holiday spirit – he’s dropped a Christmas song!
When he teased that he would be releasing a Christmas song, we were expecting his take on a classic Christmas carol. But what we got instead is even better: an original sad boi Christmas track called ‘Christmas Bells.’ It’s not traditional, but since when is James a traditionalist?
About the song he says:
I love Christmas as much as the next person but my favorite Christmas songs have always been the sad ones, so I wrote my own little miserable Christmas trackJames Arthur on ‘Christmas Bells’
We also love us some sad Christmas carols! The wave of emotions this song evokes in us cannot even be described in words. It may not be the typical joyful energy most people like in a Christmas song, but it still brings forth Christmas magic with passionate vocals and stunning lyrics. Not everyone enjoys the holiday season, some are missing loved ones this time of year, and some don’t have anyone to spend the season with. It’s the perfect song for those looking for something a little less peppy and a little more moody and poignant. Our man delivered just that, and it is flawless! Check it out below and stream it here!
We know we will be streaming this all Christmas season and every season after (SHH, no judgment)! We hope you enjoyed ‘Christmas Bells’ as much as we do, but we must get back to streaming!
