Oh, what a good time to be a MooMoo! Moonbyul is finally back with her third mini-album 6equence! Almost two years after her first EP Dark Side of the Moon, and the repackaged album 門oon, Moonbyul has once again shown us how versatile she is.
Moonbyul’s 6equence features a total of seven tracks, two of which she released earlier in December 2021. She sings, raps, writes lyrics, and produces music for her new EP. We at THP stan an incredible artist!
Here are five things we love about Moonbyul’s new mini-album! (Spoiler alert: we love it from start to finish!)
The Title Track (Both Versions)
‘Lunatic’ is a bop that’ll be stuck in our heads for at least the next month! Moonbyul‘s acting in the music video is everything, and we’re beyond obsessed with her concept and voice. She even blesses us with an English version that’s just as catchy. Need we say more?
Moonbyul’s ‘Intro: Synopsis’ is such a banger, and we’ll be needing a full version of it expeditiously! We can tell how much care she puts into her music. Her talent just blows us away, and we couldn’t be more proud to be her fans.
The Pre-Release Songs
We honestly couldn’t have made it through these last few weeks without Moonbyul’s pre-release tracks. ‘G999’ feat. Mirani hooked us with its fun retro vibes and colorful music video. ‘Shutdown’ feat. Seori gave us an intimate song that feels like home. And we just love the LGBTQ+ representation in the lyrics and music video!
Her Vocals In ‘Ddu Ddu Ddu’
Moonbyul makes us feel all the feels in ‘Ddu Ddu Ddu.’ Her voice carries so much emotion, and now we feel like we’re going through a breakup alongside her. She makes us feel validated about thinking of the past, however painful it may be because “that’s how love works.”
The Lyrics Of ‘For Me’
Now we’re full-on crying after looking up the lyrics for ‘For Me.’ Breakups are tough to experience, and Moonbyul sings everything we feel. It’s hard not to feel tired and lonely. It’s hard not to think, “times without you are meaningless,” but you will get through it.
Moonbyul’s new EP takes us from dancing and good vibes to crying and being in our feelings. But are we mad about it? Not one bit. She truly outdoes herself with 6equence, and we can’t pick our favorite song even if we tried.
