There are a lot of groups we think you need to get into, and Mom Jeans is very high on that list. The band has been releasing music since 2014, and it’s about time more people jump on the bandwagon and begin to check them out.
‘Graduating Life’ is kinda different than what we have heard from the group in the past, but that isn’t a bad thing. But, we gotta admit, sometimes acoustic tracks don’t work for every group, but Mom Jeans continues to pull it off. The track has a softer sound and sweeter, reminiscent lyrics. Most Mom Jeans lyrics make us emotional, but these really struck us right in the heart. As it made us realize, we need to slow down and enjoy the time we have now with family and friends. Recently, the group came out with the MV for ‘Graduating Life,’ and as people say, “It got us in our feels.” Not only did we get some live concert videos, but we also got some very cute childhood videos in the MV. It wrapped the whole track up in a nice little bow and made us even more nostalgic.
More Mom Jeans music heading your way as they will be releasing their newest project Sweet Tooth. Not only is ‘Graduating life’ gonna be on the album, but also previously released tracks ‘What’s up?,’ ‘Circus Clown,’ and ‘Crybaby (On The Phone).’ What else do you think we should be expecting from the album?
We know, we know, you probably fell in love with Mom Jeans here and now. But now that we’re all here, why don’t we take a look at other Mom Jeans tracks we know you’ll love? Because why not take a trip down memory lane.
The opening makes ‘Edward 40hands’ one of their best tracks, specifically if you love Bob’s Burgers. It also has a really nice, repetitive guitar opening that helps introduce the drums. Our favorite part, though, has to be at the 3:15 mark, where the breakdown and chorus begin as they pour their emotions into the vocals.
‘Heck You Bart, Pt. II: Electric Boogaloo’
‘Heck You Bart, Pt. II: Electric Boogaloo’ might sound familiar to you if you’re on TikTok. As the opening lyrics, “Do me a favor and punch me, right in the face,” had probably made their way onto your FYP through various different video concepts. But that’s not even the best part of the track, as we would just like to point out that Mom Jeans have some of our favorite instrumental breakdowns in songs.
‘Poor Boxer Shorts’
‘Poor Boxer Shorts’ and the next track on this list ‘*Sobs Quietly* are neck to neck, with our favorite Mom Jeans song. It also probably has our favorite Mom Jeans lyrics. Is it because they are sad lyrics? Yes, but the lyrics are simple yet really deep. And the hard-hitting lyrics don’t stop coming.
Ah ‘*Sobs Quietly*,’ with lyrics like “‘Cause I’m getting better at /
Crying, without making any noise” it’s one of our favorite songs to scream along to, it also has been stuck on repeat since we first heard it. This song 100% needed to be longer than it was, mostly because we never wanted it to end.
The newest track on our list, ‘What’s Up?,’ as mentioned before, is going to be on their upcoming project, Sweet Tooth. It’s reminding us of Alternative songs from the 90s/early 2000s. We can imagine it being featured in any teen movie from that era. It’s also one of the few Mom Jeans songs that have an MV, so you get to put a face to the sound.
Was half of this list tracks from Best Buds? Yeah, but that tells you how good of an album it is!
