We don’t know about you, but we here at The Honey POP are perpetually looking for new artists to fall in love with. And baby, let us tell you about our latest obsession: Honey Moon!
Honey Moon are an indie pop band from South London who are so good they’ve even got the approval of sir Elton John! The trio has been making bangers for a while, but their last release is really something else! ‘Stop and Listen’ is so good we can barely think of words to describe it. And if you don’t believe us, just take a look at this music video and the lyrics to the song:
The lyrics speak about literally stopping and listening to what others have to say. Pair that with the upbeat rhythm and general good vibes we always get from Honey Moon, and what you get is the perfect song to serve as a serotonin boost. No words can describe how much we love the music video, too. The retro vibes are going on all over the video, and we’re loving it!
When asked about the song, the band described the process of writing and recording ‘Stop and Listen’ as cathartic since it came out of a complicated period in their lives. And can we talk about how great Honey Moon were at taking these really serious themes like disagreeing with loved ones and the struggles that come with that and wrapping it in their “little sing-a-long anthem, all tied up with a soul-pop bow,” as they put it?
Did you think we were done? No, we are not! Honey Moon also announced they’ll be playing a headline show this year at the Lexington! The show will happen on February 26th, and you can find tickets here! After that, they’ll be hitting the road in April and will be visiting nine cities, including Liverpool, Bristol, and Glasgow.
