If you’re anything like us at THP, you’re always down for an exciting new collab between some of music’s brightest stars. And thankfully, some of our faves are spoiling us lately! Here are seven new collabs that deserve a spot on your heavy rotation playlists, hanging out with friends playlists, night out playlists, energy boost playlists, workout playlists… okay, we’ll stop and let you listen for yourself.
Alessia Cara & Pentatonix – ‘Best Days (Remix)’
Six of the industry’s best voices on one track? Sign us right up! The wistfully nostalgic ‘Best Days’ was already one of our favorite tracks on Alessia’s In The Meantime album, but it becomes even more magical and moving when the instrumental gets replaced by Pentatonix’s immersive harmonies. This will definitely go down in history as one of the prettiest songs of 2022.
French Montana & Moneybagg Yo – ‘FWMGAB (Remix)’
French Montana and Moneybagg Yo take turns flexing their success and riches on ‘FWMGAB,’ which stands for ‘F*ck With Me, Get A Bag.’ And for 2000s kids, the deal is even sweeter when you realize the track samples Shakira’s iconic ‘Hips Don’t Lie.’ It’s such a fun feel-good collab that works as great motivation to work hard.
Griff & Sigrid – ‘Head On Fire’
We’re beyond excited that two of our favorite rising ladies teamed up for ‘Head On Fire,’ a catchy pop track with a retro flair that captures post-breakup frustration. We love the metaphor of Griff and Sigrid’s heads being on fire trying to process what happened to the relationship! This is such an iconic duo that we hope to hear more from in the future.
I’ve looked up to Sigrid so much, especially as a young girl who broke through making powerful, credible pop music. So I was excited to hear she wanted to write. We hung out and made ‘Head On Fire,’ this really fun, feel-good song, and I’m excited for the world to finally hear us on a track together.
Lil Migo & Quavo – ‘Migo Sh*t’
Lil Migo teams up with Migos member Quavo for the confident ‘Migo Sh*t,’ a flex anthem showing off their achievements and dominance of the rap game. We love that Quavo is helping boost up a newer rapper who hasn’t got the same recognition as him, and it’s so impressive that Lil Migo scored such a big collab just a few years into his career.
Marian Hill & GASHI – ‘Little Bit’
We’re always ‘Down’ to hear a new Marian Hill track, especially when it’s a collab with someone as talented as GASHI! ‘Little Bit’ is a drum-driven reflection on what it’s like to run into an ex post-breakup, and we know the song’s honesty and tender lyrics will help listeners who are dealing with similar feelings while trying to get over someone. We wouldn’t be disappointed if GASHI became the third member of Marian Hill…
Sorana & David Guetta – ‘redruM’
You know Sorana’s a new pop artist to watch when her debut single is a collab with David Guetta! The rising Romanian has such a unique perspective and ‘redruM’ is the ultimate proof, comparing a harsh breakup to murder to show off how painful it can be. We can’t wait to see what she does in the future and we applaud David Guetta for his stunning production on this track, as well as helping boost her platform to a wider audience.
My debut single ‘redruM’ tells the story of two people falling in love with the same person. In the end, one will be happy in love and the other one will be heartbroken. In the lyrics, I compare the pain of heartbreak to a murder because in my experience, heartbreaks have been tough and hard to get over. The song is an ironic take on how people dramatically react to heartbreak. Love comes and goes so we might as well enjoy it while it lasts.
Shenseea & Megan Thee Stallion – ‘Lick’
Another irresistible collab between an upcoming artist and an A-Lister! Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion join forces on ‘Lick’ for a fun sex-positive anthem you’ll definitely get stuck in your head. We’ve for sure had it stuck in ours, partly thanks to the upbeat production from Murda Beatz, who has worked with artists like Chlöe, Ariana Grande, and Drake.
