Ryan and Mike, the duo that make up Being Around, bonded over their endless list of common interests, which naturally boils down to making a band. Obviously? With distance being their initial setback, Ryan being from LA and Mike from England, technology has this genius thing called Zoom. Not only has the single ‘Star Sign’ been created from scratch with no record label or any help, but they even said there’s a whole EP on the way! We’re so damn excited! Check out the video below.
Now that you’ve watched the video. You have watched it? Right? Let’s take a moment to appreciate how genius the simplicity of it is. To put little clips of images and words that correspond with the lyrics is fun and so cute. We love it. The sound itself is just a feel-good, upbeat, pop-punk-sounding song. It’s certainly going to be our summer anthem this year, or spring. Maybe we’ll just listen to it all year round. With lockdown on all of our minds and a lot of us losing the ability to do what we love, for now, Mike and Ryan made the most of it. Creating music solely because it’s what they love doing is how we stumble across some of the most authentic artists and the most genuine projects.
We have high hopes for Being Around, and cannot wait to hear what’s coming next. After the promise of a whole EP, with potential for even more content moving forwards. They have a joint knowledge of music and production and just… everything. Being Around is already iconic and we have no doubt in our mind that they will deliver the goods.
