Here’s All You Need To Know Before Marvel’s Moon Knight Comes Out

What’s up, honeybees? We come here today to bring your attention to the next big Marvel project set to drop on Disney+: Moon Knight. And because we know not everyone has read the comics (and that’s perfectly fine, and it doesn’t make you any less of a fan), we’re here to give you a round-up of what you need to know before watching Oscar Isaac officially join the MCU in March.

Who Is Moon Knight?

Moon Knight as a character made his first appearance in 1975 as a mercenary who does a lot of bad things and then decides to change his life around and be a good person who protects and avenges the innocent. His real name is Marc Spector, he was once a Marine and CIA operative… then he became a mercenary. And then his story goes from there.

What’s His Backstory In The Comics?

You see, in the comics, Moon Knight is a figure known mostly for being a mercenary first and then, after dying in the temple of Khonshu — the Egyptian god of the moon—, comes back to life and takes that as a sign to become a better person. So yeah, pretty unique origin story compared to what we’ve seen this far, which is why we’re excited to see it. It’ll also be cool to see if they’ll take a page from the comic books and not explain right away if the whole thing with Khonshu actually happened or if it was all in Marc Spector’s head.

What Can He Do?

Moon Knight’s skill set includes combat skills he acquired during his time as a marine and as a mercenary, he’s also good with multiple weapons and the psychic connection between himself and Khonshu. It may also be worth noting how Marc Spector is great at gaining people’s trust and getting information out of them. Over time and through different identities, he gains insight into different criminals and organizations who may be a threat for Moon Knight to handle. He’s good!

Does He Have Ties To Characters Who May Bring Him Into The Movies?

We shall see… But in all seriousness, Moon Knight has been known to team up with heroes such as Spider-Man, Daredevil, Dr. Strange, and the X-Men in the comics, so who knows where this dude might pop up after this show? Or who might show up in the show too? At this point, anything is possible.

When Can We Expect To See Him On Disney+?

After all this new information, there’s only one thing left to discuss: when are we getting the show? Easy, March 30, on Disney+! Moon Knight is set to have six episodes and be part of the current Phase 4 of the MCU. We can’t wait to see Oscar Isaac as an actual Marvel hero.
