If you’re a fan of film or tv, the likelihood is that you’ll be familiar with Mckenna Grace and her work. From Netflix to Disney and the MCU, she’s there! However, you may not be aware that she has recently branched out into the world of music and we’re so glad she did! Here’s a round-up of some of her biggest achievements to date including a look at her new music!
‘do all my friends hate me?’
Mckenna has a beautiful way with words and despite her young age can capture some pretty intimate and deep emotions. In the music video for the new single ‘do all my friends hate me?’ we see a vulnerable side to her.
“I wrote that song while I was stuck in a two-week quarantine before a shoot in Canada. None of my friends were calling or texting me back, and it was all I had to focus on. I just felt so insecure, isolated, and sad.”
Mckenna Grace on ‘do all my friends hate me?’
A lot of us can relate to those feelings and anxiety over the last couple of years, with lockdowns especially. If you do relate, Mckenna has partnered with The Jed Foundation to promote resources for those struggling which you can find here. It’s so sweet that Mckenna is looking out for her fans it’s just one of the things we love about her.
She’s An Amazing Actress
Having been acting since she was 5 years old, Mckenna has created quite the career for herself. She was even nominated for an Emmy last year for her work in The Handmaid’s Tale at only 15! Her other work includes playing the younger Carol Danvers in Marvel’s Captain Marvel as well as leading Gifted with Chris Evans and Octavia Spencer! The girl is booked and busy!!
She’s A Writer And Producer!
After starring in The Bad Seed, Mckenna and her dad wrote a script for the sequel during the lockdown in 2020. The sequel got picked up and she is an executive producer with the film set to be released in 2022. Sounds like her scripts are as good as her music!
Mckenna Really Learnt How To Skate For I, Tonya
She’s nothing if not committed! While it may not be an Emmy nomination or a storm of a single release, we think it’s pretty cool that she really learned to skate for her role in I, Tonya. She was trained alongside Margot Robbie by choreographer and skater Sarah Kawahara.
Directing Her Own Music Videos
Mckenna has co-directed both of her music videos so far, including her debut track ‘Haunted House.’ We know Mckenna loves a little bit of spook from her roles in The Haunting of Hill House and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. This track was even featured in the credit sequence of Ghostbusters: Afterlife which she also starred in. We told you, she’s booked and busy!! Check out the spooky video for ‘Haunted House’ here:
We really can’t wait to see where Mckenna goes next in her career. We just know she’ll be a household name before long.
