5 Aussie Artists You Need On Your Radar

They might come from the land down under but these Aussie artists are going to exceed your expectations! Australia has produced some of the biggest names in the industry and they just keep coming. There are some incredible artists on this list and whether they’re new names or familiar favorites, we have a feeling you’ll be falling for them!

Natalie Imbruglia

Natalie is a mainstay in both the Australian and international music scene and she’s still producing some incredible music. She released her debut album Left Of The Middle in 1997 and has subsequently released five albums including her 2021 album Firebird. Natalie is far from a new name with over a billion streams under her belt but it is very much deserved.

She has had so many hits it’s hard to pick a favorite as she revisits them on tour for the 25th anniversary of her debut album. We’re hoping to see some of the classics like ‘Torn,’ ‘Smoke,’ or ‘Wishing I Was There.’

Natalie is also incredibly fun and the tour follows a stint on The Masked Singer UK where she performed as Panda! Her winning song was a One Direction classic ‘Story of My Life’ which could’ve been a sweet nod to them performing her hit ‘Torn’ at their first-ever X-Factor performance. An iconic discography and a playful personality? That’s going to be one pretty incredible tour. Grab your tickets here!

Eliza & The Delusionals

From an artist’s anniversary tour to a debut album, Meet Eliza & The Delusionals! The band has just released their last single ‘GIVE YOU EVERYTHING’ ahead of the launch of their debut album NOW AND THEN. The album is set for release in May 2022. ‘GIVE YOU EVERYTHING’ is getting us so excited! If you love discovering new artists before they blow up, you’ll want to hop onto the Eliza hype train!

The video for the single is super fun and colorful with a touch of 90’s aesthetic. With a lot of 90’s babies here at THP, we also have to talk about the Lizzie McGuire style cartoon versions of the band that pop up through the video. So cute!

Fans of artists such as Stand Atlantic, Grayscale, and Declan Mckenna will fall in love with the band’s pop-influenced tunes. There’s an edge of Taylor Swift reminiscent vocals in there as well. We’re so excited to see where Eliza & The Delusionals are going and can’t to hear their full debut album. We think we’re going to be seeing a lot more of them in the not too distant future!

Tasman Keith

Another artist coming in strong with a debut album announcement is Australian / First Nations man Tasman Keith. ‘LOVE TOO SOON’ is a single representing the style of his upcoming album A Colour Undone. There are some clear influences in this track from artists like The Weeknd and Anderson. Paak and we are digging it.

Tasman is effortlessly cool in this one-shot video for the single. It is full of good vibes, some insanely smooth moves, and a beautiful sunset. The album is out July 7th! This will be on repeat until then!

THE BLSSM

Fueled by Ramen has helped boost the careers of some of our favorite artists over the years including the likes of Against The Current, Meet Me @ The Altar, and Misterwives. One of their latest signings, THE BLSSM, is another smashing addition to their roster. THE BLSSM combines 90s grunge-inspired edge with the futurism of the early noughties.

We love their vibe and if THE BLSSM’s Instagram posts are anything to go by ‘DIZZY’ is going to go off live. The video for ‘DIZZY’ is a nod to the artist growing up between NYC and Sydney and show them chasing themselves around the big apple. We’re excited to see where THE BLSSM and Fueled by Ramen go on this journey. 2022 looks like it’s shaping up to be a big year for them!

Speaking about the inspiration for the single this is what THE BLSSM had to say:

The lyrics on a surface level allude to being about a significant other, but really they are inner-conversational and inspired by the weight of “dragging around” emotional baggage that encompasses my life.

Waxflower

Waxflower have been cutting their teeth in the Brisbane scene and have gained attention opening for the likes of The Maine, Simple Plan, and Stand Atlantic. We love a bit of pop-punk here at THP and these guys are looking like they’re going to break into the international scene in a big way. Frontman Tristan was talking about the influences of the band’s latest single ‘Ring:’

Ring’ is a more pointed look at how outside factors were feeding into my self doubt. This is probably the poppiest Waxflower song to date, we wanted to capture the essence of those huge pop/rock singles from the 2000s
