1. It Ends With Us

Starting out strong with Colleen’s most popular book, It Ends With Us made waves in the BookTok community. If you are looking for a fluffy feel-good romance… uh- look farther. It Ends With Us is none of that. It Ends With Us is a heart-wrenching story of abuse and recovery from the victim’s eyes. Lily Bloom is a small town college graduate starting her own business when she meets Ryle Kincaid, an eye-catching neurosurgeon, with eyes only for Lily. He seems almost too good to be true. But he has an aversion to relationships, and only Lily seems to pass the test. As this new relationship spins around Lily, her past starts to catch up to her, in the form of her past fling, Atlas Corrigan. When Atlas starts showing up in Lilly’s life, her romance with Ryle suddenly doesn’t seem so sweet anymore. A moving story that has you sympathizing with all characters, It Ends With Us is a must-read.

They discover they have a mutual attraction to each other and form a no-strings-attached relationship that benefits both. Or so they think. There are only two rules Miles asks – Never ask about the past, and don’t expect a future. So, what happens when Tate begins to break both? Another standalone novel that will leave you stunned and speechless, Colleen Hoover never fails to deliver on showing real and complicated relationships.

Colleen keeps at it with the heart-breaking books. Reminders of Him follows Kenna Rowan after her release from five years in prison after a fatal mistake. In an attempt to rekindle a relationship with her four-year-old daughter, Kenna returns to where it all started. But everyone seems determined to keep Kenna away from her daughter, no matter the cost. Except for Ledger Ward, local bar owner and one of the last strings linking Kenna to her daughter. But if anyone finds out Ledger is helping Kenna, and possibly becoming more in her life, both of them would be ruined. This novel about coping with the past and building a future is sure to keep you hooked. Grab a coffee. Grab the tissues. We’re gonna be here awhile.

5. Verity

Hoover makes a dip into the horror genre with Verity, a psychological thriller. Make sure to read the trigger warning on this one because it has us hiding under the blankets. Lowen Ashleigh is a writer hired by Jeremy Crawford to finish his dying wife’s book series. In the process of sorting out the mess that is Verity’s notes and workspace, Lowen stumbles into a secret she was never meant to find. The depth of this secret could devastate Jeremy and leave him a shell of who he is. With feelings for Jeremy growing, will she show him the truth and risk it all? With a chilling atmosphere and creepy undertones the whole way, this is a daunting read and definitely a good pick for horror fans. Excuse us as we light some sage and find a good rom-com to recover.
