Romance readers everywhere will swoon over Finding Her Edge by Jennifer Iacopelli. From the adorable romance to the binge-worthy writing style, we’re giving you five reasons why this book will give you all the feels!
Summary: Adriana Russo is figure skating royalty.
With gold-medalist parents, and her older sister headed to the Olympics, all she wants is to live up to the family name and stand atop the ice dance podium at the Junior World Championships. But fame doesn’t always mean fortune, and their legendary skating rink is struggling under the weight of her dad’s lavish lifestyle. The only thing keeping it afloat is a deal to host the rest of the Junior Worlds team before they leave for France.
That means training on the same ice as her first crush, Freddie, the partner she left when her growth spurt outpaced his. For the past two years, he’s barely acknowledged her existence, and she can’t even blame him for it.
When the family’s finances take another unexpected hit, losing the rink seems inevitable until her partner, Brayden, suggests they let the world believe what many have suspected: that their intense chemistry isn’t contained to the ice. Fans and sponsors alike take the bait, but keeping up the charade is harder than she ever imagined. And training alongside Freddie makes it worse, especially when pretending with Brayden starts to feel very real.
As the biggest competition of her life draws closer and her family’s legacy hangs in the balance, Adriana is caught between her past and present, between the golden future she’s worked so hard for, and the one she gave up long ago.

It’ll Make All Of Your Tessa And Scott Dreams Come True
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir won the hearts of countless fans with their emotional ice dancing performances. They were so convincing that there was widespread speculation all over social media about if the two were dating. We know now that’s not the case, but we’re so grateful for it because their story inspired the romance plot in Finding Her Edge! We love the fake dating trope and it was so much fun to read about Adrianna and Brayden pretending to be a couple as their fans cheered in the audience. It made all of our Tessa + Scott dreams come true!
An Adorable Romance
Now we couldn’t talk about why we enjoyed Finding Her Edge without discussing the romance. We’ve already talked about the fake dating element in this book but did we mention there’s a bit of a love triangle? Adriana’s got her hands full trying to juggle the media and Brayden, but suddenly Freddie, her old skating partner (and crush?) comes back into her life. We loved the tension and the uncertainty, we just had to know who she was going to pick! This book has something for all types of romance lovers!
It’s Totally Bingeworthy!
The short chapters and fast-paced romance made Finding Her Edge a binge-worthy read. We flew through each page because of the easy-to-read writing style. Plus we just had to know what would happen next! We definitely recommend this book if you’re hoping to get out of a reading slump!
The Competition Trope
Who doesn’t love a competition? Along with the element of fake dating, there’s also the backdrop of the skating competition. Seeing the team come together and support one another was so heartwarming! But there was also suspense and drama when it came to their performances and rankings. We also learned a lot about ice dancing, especially about training and the culture around the sport.
A Focus On Family
Not only does Finding Her Edge focus on love and self-worth, but it also talks about family relationships. Adriana feels a lot of pressure to support her family ever since her mother passed away, and she sacrifices so much even though her dad and sisters don’t seem to notice. We loved reading about her growth and how she learned to stand up for herself with the support of her friends.
