Brazilian DJ and producer Alok has dropped a new remix of the song ‘Under The Full Moon’ with stunner vocalist Sonnet and famous Korean traditional musician Junsu Kim.
This unexpected team-up beautifully combines different genre styles as well as different cultures. But this is no ordinary remix, it is inspired by Ganggangsullae, 강강술래, which is an ancient Korean dance that is usually paired with traditional folk music.
One of the gorgeous filming locations is Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a fortification that surrounds the heart of Suwon that was named a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997. We can thank ZanyBros, a highly distinguished production company in South Korea, for such a beautiful location choice.
“Before I came to Korea, I found the beauty of Korea’s oriental elements, such as music, visuals, artists, and art. I saw this opportunity to connect Korean music with my dance music for the global market. This will be very traditional, but also modern at the same time. I wished to be a bridge between traditional and contemporary, as well as oriental and western.”
Alok, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone Korea.
Something even more exciting to look forward to, the extended version of ‘Under The Full Moon’ is expected to join DJ Alok’s live set so you can dance to this banger in person!
