It’s a known fact that we here at The Honey POP are obsessed with Latin music. We also love recommending you new music to add to your playlists. And you’re in luck because Latin music icon Carlos Vives is back with another masterpiece. The 15-time Latin Grammy winner teams up with fellow Colombian and rising star Camilo on ‘Baloncito Viejo.’
‘Baloncito Viejo,’ which translates to “little old ball,” is all about love. Vives and Camilo express love by using soccer as a metaphor. The ‘Baloncito Viejo’ symbolizes love and the importance of playing responsibly in order to prevent hurting the other person in the relationship. The collaboration is a blend of modern pop elements and traditional Colombian vallenato music, a trademark in Vives’ discography.

The music video takes us back to a 19th-century sports club with two teams playing a soccer game. The storyline also follows the song’s theme. Soccer represents what happens in love; sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. It’s all dependent on fate.
The collaboration that brings together generations of music
This sweet collaboration between Vives and Camilo bridges two generations of Latin music. And we can’t help but admire the love the two Colombian singers have for each other.
