Chloe Moriondo recently released their new single, ‘sammy’ via Public Consumption/Fueled by Ramen. Chloe gushes about their dog in this catchy, light-hearted pop song, and THP can’t get enough of it! This single is from her new EP puppy luv, dropping on April 8th!
Chloe sings about Sammy as if he’s human, talking about their relationship with their dog throughout the song. In the first verse, Chloe sings,
“There’s a boy I know/In the morning, catch him moving slow.’
The acoustic guitar-heavy track and the repetition in the chorus of the song make for the perfect karaoke session with pets!
“Oh Sammy, Sammy/You’re lil’ face as sweet as candy, candy/Could have the hearts of so many, many/But I’m so glad that you’re mine.’
She sings about Sammy’s quirks in the second verse of the song. “He really likes eating carrots/(he thinks they’re cookies dude!”) In the bridge of ‘sammy,’ Chloe sings,
“All bark and no bite/Make up when we fight. When you’re with me, you’ll be all right/I’m with you you’re whole dog life.”
We love the puns and wordplay they use here!
Chloe giggles throughout the song, showing us just how much they love and adore Sammy, which also adds a playful touch to the song. ‘sammy’ is for all dog lovers, especially those who love their dogs as much as humans! ‘sammy’ is also good for when you need serotonin on a bad day, cause who can resist dogs?
She dives further into the world of dogs in her EP puppy luv. Giving us more info about the EP, Chloe shared,“‘puppy luv’ is a collection of canine songs that I coincidentally wrote over the past couple of years. To me, it feels like a playful bite from a tiny puppy that kinda stings a little later. I dedicate it to Sammy my dog!”
