This girl doesn’t need a Prince Charming, she’s learned how to save herself. She’s also learned how to write a pretty great song. Raye’s latest single, ‘Prince Charming,’ is such a feel-good and full of self-confidence and assurance. We’ll be adding this one to our mood booster playlists and singing “I got the crown” at the top of our lungs!

The song is the fourth single from her upcoming EP, Crushes & Love Songs, which will be out later this year. Having previously performed in bands, Raye said the free time that she found herself with during the pandemic really allowed her to figure out who she is as an artist and experiment with her sound. We love that she’s taking creative control, and if ‘Prince Charming’ sets the standard for her songwriting, we cannot wait to see what else she’s got up her sleeves for us to enjoy!

You can stream ‘Prince Charming’ here or check out the video for her previous single, ‘Daisies,’ to start diving into her discography!

Straight out of LA comes more*, and they might just be your new fave alt-rock duo. more* is comprised of Kane Ritchotte and Malcolm McRae who are both striving to achieve alt-pop perfection. Inspired by the likes of John Lennon, Gorillaz, and Tame Impala, their music reflects their eclectic tastes. Their latest single, ‘Really Want To See You Again,’ feels like it should be in the end credits of a coming-of-age film as the quirky group of friends enter the next exciting chapter of their lives. Very specific, we know, but it’s got all the positive vibrations.

We’re not the only ones who think they’re pretty great. We all know that Cara Delevingne seems to be the queen of cool and she recently hosted the band’s Instagram live concert, alongside Anya Taylor Joy and Diana Silvers. Those are some pretty famous friends and we have a feeling the band is going to be making a lot more on their journey to stardom. Why don’t you join them for the ride?

They’ll be hitting the road with Haim in May this year and if that wasn’t cool enough, Kane will even be stepping in to play the drums for the girl band. Until then, check out the music video for ‘Really Want To See You Again’ here:

RōZY

This rising female-fronted group is a pop-punk band that we think is going to make a splash in the scene. Their new single, ‘Drunk on Love,’ got us a little woozy with fun and nostalgia (we miss you, Warped Tour!). It reminded us a little of old-school 5SOS and they’d totally vibe in a playlist with some Hey Violet, Waterparks, and Bronnie. Not to mention, lead singer Zoe and her sister Molly are giving us some major hair envy in this music video. They are rocking it!

Zoe, Molly, Brandon, and Noah are coming out strong into 2022 with their upbeat, punchy sound – and they have no plans to back down any time soon, already out playing shows around Texas. Maybe they can’t play Warped Tour anymore (RIP), but we hope we’ll be seeing them at a Slamdunk or Sad Summer Fest soon! While we wait until we can see them rock out live, have a watch of their video for ‘Drunk On Love’ here:

Ellie Dixon

Our next artist comes from across the pond and is from Cambridge in the UK. Ellie is a 23-year-old alt-pop artist that you might just recognize from TikTok, because she has been smashing it over there. Her “If I Had A Verse” TikToks are pure fuego and have even got her nominated for an iHeartRadio Music Award in the TikTok Songwriter of the Year category. We can see why, because she adds her own brilliant Ellie twist to some of our favorite songs such as Billie Eilish‘s ‘Bad Guy’ – bonus points for you if you can spot all the movie villains in this one!

Ellie’s creativity doesn’t stop with writing verses for other people though – she’s got an EP out called Crikey! It’s My Psyche and it’s 5 tracks of Ellie’s signature songwriting style. Although it’s got us grooving out, it can be very introspective in its lyrics. We also really admire that Ellie produced the EP herself, she really is a multi-talented lady! You can see if she wins the iHeartRadio Award on the 22nd of March. For now, familiarise yourself with this star on the rise and watch her video for ‘Green Grass’ here:

Maria Lynn

From one girl boss to another, meet on-the-rise artist Maria Lynn. Maria has just released the title track of her Bad Habits EP, which comes out in April, and we’re obsessed with it. The song is about letting go of old relationships and not holding onto bad habits when you’re trying to move forward. We think it would fit into your best chill pop playlist with artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Griff, and Madison Beer.

Other tracks on the EP, such as previously released ‘Why Do We,’ talk about her rocky relationship with her ex-girlfriend. Maria spoke about her EP, what it means to her and hopes it means to other people and it’s really too sweet not to share:

Sharing love with another is euphoric, passionate and painful. Ultimately, it teaches us so many valuable life lessons leading us to the great love of all, within ourselves. That’s what I hope listeners feel – a newfound appreciation and sense of love for themselves.
