We’re shaking in our boots here at The Honey POP because The Killers have just announced a deluxe edition of Pressure Machine! We were super excited about this album when it first came out last August. Now we get to be excited all over again for the special new renditions of our fave tracks!
Like an artist making several versions of the same painting, The Killers dive deep into exploring the multiple ways a song can be expressed. We can’t wait for the haunting acoustic adaptation of ‘The West Hills’ or the full-band blowout of the delicate ‘Runaway Horses’ featuring Phoebe Bridgers. We also don’t want to have to get by without a few new versions of ‘The Getting By’ too!

On top of all this awesomeness, there is even more awesomeness. To fully celebrate the deluxe edition of Pressure Machine, the band has planned the release of their original short film Notes From A Quiet Town on March 21st. The film is set in singer Brandon Flowers’s childhood stomping grounds of Nephi, Utah. Along with three low-key performances by the band, the film will share stories about the town and its residents.
As far as the vibe of the deluxe edition of Pressure Machine and the accompanying film, Brandon had this to say:
Had it not been for advancements in the automotive industry, Nephi in the 90s could have been the 1950s.
The film, like the album, will tackle tough subjects through a small-town lens. Topics like local tragedies and personal regrets are explored, along with Americana imagery and a mellow yet deep soundtrack. Pressure Machine perfectly encapsulates the sometimes romantic, sometimes dark vibes of the rural American Southwest.
While Pressure Machine might be about a small town, The Killers aren’t keeping things small. They are taking both Pressure Machine and their 2020 album Imploding the Mirage to big cities throughout the USA, Mexico, and Europe. Be part of the experience and get your tix ASAP!
We here at THP love a good story, and Notes From A Quiet Town is bound to dazzle us as it gives a visual aspect to Pressure Machine’s narrative. This deluxe edition is set to be even more immersive, and we can’t imagine what The Killers has in store for their live shows.
