Miley Cyrus headlining both Lollapalooza shows in South America calls for a full recap! Hello, ‘Fly On The Wall?!’ We haven’t stopped talking about it.
In March 2022, Miley headed to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile, to headline the South American installments of the iconic music festival Lollapalooza. What made it extra special was the fact that Miley hadn’t been to South America in over a decade! Because of that, fans showed up for her.
South America brought other treats, too, in the form of a show-stopping setlist that combined old and new songs! Plus, the impromptu moment when Miley read out a sign about ‘Hoedown Throwdown’ and sang a snippet of the Hannah Montana jam.
She brought back classic mainstays like ‘7 Things’ and ‘The Climb’ just like she did at Lollapalooza in Chicago, but this time, there were more surprises! Miley dipped her toe back into the She Is Coming era with arena banger ‘Mother’s Daughter’ that had the crowd chanting, “don’t f*ck with my freedom.”
She also brought back the Breakout standout ‘Fly On The Wall,’ which fit right into her rock ‘n’ roll vibe. Not to mention this performance was the first time Miley performed the song in over a decade, making it an extra special moment to remember.
And lastly, Miley resurrected her absolutely legendary cover of her godmother Dolly Parton‘s ‘Jolene.’
Thanks to the beauty of social media connecting us all around the world, Miley’s South American Lollapalooza performance trended at number ten in the US, number two in Brazil, and number three in Argentina!
It’s safe to say we can’t wait to see what the rest of her time in South America brings as she makes stops in Colombia and Brazil. It’s Miley’s World, and we’re just living in it!
