QUIZ: Cook Breakfast And We’ll Give You An Underrated Japanese Breakfast Song

Led by the incredible Michelle Zauner, Japanese Breakfast is one indie act you need on your radar, if they aren’t already on all your favorite playlists. Michelle’s lyrics are constantly blowing us away with how detailed and vivid they are, especially on the band’s latest album, Jubilee. She has such a graceful way with words that bring her stories to life so well!

Japanese Breakfast was born out of a monthly song challenge, when Michelle and one of her friends decided to make a song every single day for an entire month. Some of these songs wound up being foundations for JB songs, and once the challenge was up, Michelle kept making music! Japanese Breakfast officially debuted in 2016 with their Psychopomp album, which explored topics like insecurity and grief after Michelle’s mom passed away. With the album, it became more apparent than ever that Japanese Breakfast was going to change lives with their beautiful narratives and relatable themes.

And now, two albums later – if you haven’t heard Soft Sounds From Another Planet or Jubilee yet, do yourself a favor and queue those up – Japanese Breakfast is bigger than ever. But with such an expansive discography full of hidden gems, it can be overwhelming to narrow down where to start and which songs will suit your vibe the best. So don’t worry, honey, we’ve got you! We wanna use our daydreams about having brunch with Japanese Breakfast for good. So plan the ultimate brunch with us, and we’ll recommend an underrated JB song for your rotation!

Which song did you get? What did you think? Let us know in the comments below or hit us up on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter! And if you’re hungry for more Japanese Breakfast content, we got you.
