The Digging Deep Podcast

Robert is set to begin the latest season of his podcast Digging Deep on the 18th of April. If you’re not familiar with the podcast already, David uses these episodes to dive into his back catalogue of music and share conversations about a new piece of work each week. David talks about his experiences from traveling the world, what has inspired his music, and what has shaped his truly iconic career. If you’re a bit of a music geek (we’re going to assume you are if you’re reading this), then you will adore this podcast. It is so interesting to hear someone speak with such love and care about their work and share so many personal stories about their life. And, oh boy, has he had an incredibly interesting and vibrant life.

When listening to the podcast, you can feel his passion radiating through in every word he speaks. Like in his lyrics, he has a really beautiful way of storytelling that leaves you hanging off his every word. We can’t wait to hear more and we’re especially excited as he’s launching the new season with a Led Zeppelin tune! You can catch up on all the previous seasons here. They’re also not super long episodes, most clocking in at around 20 minutes, so you’ve got time to enjoy them all before the new season drops. Season 5 will also include his first-ever guest, Alison Krauss! More on that in a minute!

Hitting The Airwaves

Robert will also be flexing his podcasting skills as he steps in to cover for Iggy Pop on BBC 6Music. He’ll be spinning all his favorite tunes and sprinkling in some wisdom and stories from his life on the road. You can tune in to listen on Sundays all through April at 4 pm. It’s some pretty great company for a self-care Sunday! Like we said before, this man has a way with words so you’re not going to want to miss out!

Remember when we said we’d talk about Alison Krauss more? That time is now! In 2021, Alison and Robert released their second collaborative album, Raise The Roof, and we’re finally going to get to hear it live! We’re truly winning. The pair will be playing a run of shows to celebrate the release as well as playing some of the golden oldies from their GRAMMY award-winning album, Raising Sand. One of the incredible songs featured on the new album is a cover of ‘Quattro’ by Calexico which both Robert and Alison will be doing a deep dive into on Robert’s podcast. We’re so excited to hear them speak about their album together, we fear one episode won’t be enough!

Their voices blend so beautifully together in a way that’s both incredibly comforting and haunting in the best possible way. These are artists that are going to make sure they hit you right in the feels before the track is over. The whole album is incredible and we know it’s going to translate into an incredible live experience. Some of the dates they’re performing at include a BST Hyde Park summer show and Glastonbury festival, and you just know the atmosphere is going to be insane. Click play on the track above, close your eyes and just picture a field full of people experiencing that energy together. We have shivers.
