Binge-Worthy Buzz: Get Ready For A Movie Marathon

Hello, honeybees, and welcome to another edition of Binge-Worthy Buzz, our series dedicated to all movies and TV nerds like us! We have a lot to get through this week, so let’s dive in!

Man In The Arena: Tom Brady

For a limited time, the ESPN+ documentary series Man in the Arena: Tom Brady will also be available on Disney+ and Hulu. The first nine episodes are already out and the tenth will be coming later this month. During the episodes, Brady and other important figures talk about his legendary career in the NFL, going beyond questions like “how did it feel to win this/lose that/etc.?” and going for the deep stuff we love to see. And since each episode focuses on a single Super Bowl appearance, we know we’ll get a lot of details on each of them.

Explorer: The Last Tepui

As always, Earth Day on Disney+ will be a good one! National Geographic’s special Explorer: The Last Tepui is proof of that. In the program, we follow climbers Alex Honnold and Mark Synnott as they try to climb a 1000-foot cliff in the Amazon jungle. But why would they put themselves through that? To get biologist Bruce Means to the top of a tepui (or “island in the sky”) in search of undiscovered species.

The Biggest Little Farm: The Return

The other Earth Day special coming to Disney+ is The Biggest Little Farm: The Return, based on the 2018 documentary on John and Molly Chester, who left LA to live on a farm in Ventura County. This special follows their 10-year journey in making Apricot Lane Farms what it is today. We’re sure John, Molly, and their animals will gain a special place in your heart when you watch this special.

Turning Red

You have all seen how many times we’ve talked about Turning Red around here, and that’s because the movie is great! Seeing Mei becoming her own person, maturing, and making her own choices instead of just seeking her mother’s approval is beautiful! And in case just watching it on Disney+ isn’t enough and you want more, the movie debuts on all major digital platforms on April 26 and on Blu-ray and DVD on May 3.

National Treasure

This one is here for a few reasons. One: the two movies currently available on Disney+ are amazing and still hold up years after their release! Two: there are currently a third movie and a TV show being produced and you should probably catch up on the first two before those are here. Three: Justin Bartha, a.k.a. Riley Poole from the first two movies, is confirmed to reprise his role in the series, although we don’t know how exactly he’ll be written into the story.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Nicolas Cage is back in the spotlight as… Nicolas Cage? Well, a fictional version of him, at least. In The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, this version of Nick Cage is broke and is forced to accept a million-dollar offer from a dangerous superfan to show up at his birthday party. Because of that, he is recruited by the CIA and must live up to all the iconic action roles he’s played in the past in order to save the day. The movie comes to theaters everywhere on April 22.

Sneakerella

Okay, okay, so this one is a little further away than some other items on this list, but we couldn’t just leave it out after seeing this trailer. Sneakerella is exactly what it sounds like: Cinderella, but with sneakers instead of glass slippers. The movie is set to come to Disney+ on May 13, with Chosen Jacobs and Lexi Underwood as the leads in this pop/hip-hop musical.

And these were our top choices for what to watch in the near future. Let us know what you think of these titles by tweeting us @thehoneypop! Or, you can find us on Facebook or Instagram as well.
