One of our favs here at The Honey POP, Vance Joy, is back with new music, as he drops ‘Clarity!’ And, if you can’t tell, we are very excited to get new music from the Australian singer-songwriter. The indie artist has swept us off our feet since the release of his hit song ‘Riptide.’
2022 is looking to be a big year for Vance Joy. He is getting ready to release his third full-length album, In Our Own Sweet Time, slated for June 10. The forthcoming album is considered Vance Joy’s most personal release to date. In addition, Joy will be heading out on a North American and UK tour starting this spring in London.
Stoked to be back on tour next year. USA & UK you sold out real quick. Canada and Australia you can still get tickets if you want to join me and the band! ❤️https://t.co/pO0raNiD5n pic.twitter.com/6Ei4VJwCbs

The Australian singer is giving a sneak peek of what’s to come with his new single, ‘Clarity.’ The first single from In Our Own Time stays true to Joy’s signature sound but feels like a breath of fresh air with the addition of pop and horn elements.
‘Clarity’ is about the narrator realizing they had feelings for someone after a certain time has passed. The lyrics depict a shy narrator who realizes they didn’t act fast enough on their emotions. Vance Joy sings, “The precious moments that we shared/ You slowed down time inside my head/ I wish I’d found this clarity/ While I still had you close to me.”

The Indie Singer Plays Matchmaker in the Music Video
While the song talks about the narrator finally getting clarity about their feelings, the music video has Vance Joy playing matchmaker on a film set. The video starts with Joy playing the lead and struggling to find chemistry with his leading lady. After noticing that his co-star had a connection with someone from the film crew, he decides to switch up the roles and plays cupid.

We absolutely cannot wait for In Our Own Time! June 10 is already marked on our calendars, and it should be marked on yours, too! Until then, we will be listening to ‘Clarity’ on repeat.
