Today we’re going old school with these brand new music videos! From State Champs’ new single ‘Eventually,’ to Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Iced Out Necklace,’ we’re transporting you to turning on MTV at 6am and watching ‘Black and Yellow’ and ‘Baby’ while you got ready for school.
We love a bit of nostalgia, so let’s have a TRL moment and watch some new music videos! We’ve got everything from rock to rap to EDM and pop, and they’re all ~chef’s kiss~ amazing.
‘Eventually’ by State Champs
The music video creates a safe space for the heavier subject matter by doubling as a behind the scenes look at the band in the studio. By framing it this way, the video shows us that things do get better and the support of your friends and loved ones is important and powerful. Not to mention, there are hints about their upcoming fourth studio album, Kings Of The New Age, out May 13 via Pure Noise Records. The album will feature guests Ben Barlow, Chrissy Costanza, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Four Year Strong.
‘I Think I Like You’ by The Band CAMINO
The Band CAMINO is giving us all the 70s late-night talk show vibes with their newest video! The psychedelic aesthetic perfectly complements the nostalgic funky energy of ‘I Think I Like You’ from their self-titled album. Its silliness is perfectly balanced with the vintage vibes and this single is definitely poised to be our song of the summer! The Band CAMINO is on their first leg of THE TOUR CAMINO across North America and tickets can be found here!
‘Sirens’ by Flume & Caroline Polachek
‘Sirens,’ the ethereal new single from renowned DJ Flume featuring hyperpop princess Caroline Polachek, gives us a mesmerizing visual as Polachek floats into a cavern over haunting vocals. The song is from Flume’s forthcoming LP, Palaces, out May 20 on Future Classic and Transgressive. You can catch Flume playing music from Palaces at Coachella and on his upcoming world tour.
‘Iced Out Necklace’ by Wiz Khalifa
Wiz is back with a banger in new single ‘Iced Out Necklace’ and it’s taking us back to old school hip hop videos. Directed by Wiz himself and Andrea Saaveda, the video sees Wiz and friends going rogue in what looks like detention, before moving through the rest of the school, including shots with even the lunch ladies. We love the strong “taking back our youth” vibes from the video. This music video is perfect for the end of the school year as many students are probably daydreaming about having a party in the cafeteria instead of doing homework!
‘Make You Love Me’ by Aiyana-Lee
This sultry video serves as a prequel to Aiyana-Lee’s previous music video, ‘Gangster of Love!’ With her silky, soulful vocals, Aiyana-Lee embodies a bartender pursuing her patron love interest in a glamorous red dress in the visual for her new single.
And she’s not done yet! The end of the video gives us a sneak peek of her next visual for ‘Table for Three’ which will continue to expand the world Aiyana-Lee has crafted. Each of these are featured on her debut EP, Wednesday’s Child (Side A), which you can stream here!
Hopefully, you found a new fave music video! Music videos are an important piece of visual art when it comes to music, and we love diving deeper into the worlds of artists through them!
