We’re kicking off our tour of the world in Iceland, where rising electro-pop star Heidrunna just released her debut album Melodramatic.

The album opens with ethereal ‘Borderline’ and takes us on a journey through heartbreak and love with a little 80s flair and modern electro-pop vibrance. ‘Daydreamer’ is another highlight––a sunny track with the perfect vibe for spring and summer, along with the catchy ‘Cindy.’ Heidrunna takes inspiration from artists like Beach House, Lykke Li, Blondie, and The Weeknd, and we can totally hear it!

Canada

Our first stop in Canada is with Toronto-based Jade Hilton, who just released her debut album Unrequited!

The album features the single ‘Not My Type,’ a catchy track about a casual relationship.

The album also features stunners like ‘Evelyn,’ the heartfelt track where Hilton sings “tell me Evelyn / did you ever learn to be loved?” as well as the haunting ballad ‘Don’t Be Sad.’ Jade’s emotional, captivating vocals make this a must-listen album.

“I wrote a series of songs related through the theme of unrequited love. I wanted to share my value of female empowerment through this album, so my fans know that they are not defined by their relationships. They have the power to lead and become themselves.”

Next, we’ll pop over to Winnipeg, where duo Mise en Scene are reminding us all to be a little ‘Nicer’ with their brand new single!

As if the song itself wasn’t brilliant enough, the video features the duo’s adorable puppies playing on Lake Winnipeg! The duo’s unique brand of sunny alt-rock is perfectly encapsulated by this song, and is a great alt-rock tune for summertime!

“I feel this song is relatable to today’s social climate. We are coming back into the world after years of being locked up and we are impatient with each other, we have been cruel to each other. We need to find the energy within our exhaustion to be nicer to each other, we all know we need it.”

Now let’s hop on a train to Brighton and watch the vintage-tinged new music video from Matt Taylor for ‘April 13th.’

Matt’s mesmerizing falsetto vocals drew us right in. His heartfelt delivery makes ‘April 13th’ the kind of song that settles right in your heart. One of our favorite parts is the cathartic, poetic bridge that ties the song together! Matt’s lyricism and vulnerability are super impressive, and this is the ultimate heartbreak anthem.

Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Matt draws inspiration from powerhouses like SOPHIE, Taylor Swift, and Lorde, and that influence most definitely shines through, with his unique charm sprinkled on top. You don’t wanna miss this one!

In Brooklyn, New York, where art bursts around every corner, there is Middle Part, an artist on the precipice of releasing their new single ‘Harley’ on April 26th, 2022. They say it’s a song that captures “a tortured artist daydreaming about a simple and complacent life.”

The track appears on their forthcoming sophomore EP Time Is Elastic, and is a confessional track that explores art and music and meaning in a world of commercialism and social media. ‘Harley’ shines with sincerity and heart with honest lyrics like “Feels like I’m losing it / I cry at the happy sh*t / where has my mind been at / I just wanna get high and slide out.”

Keep this one on your radar, because we can totally see Middle Part blowing up with their vulnerability and artistic mind!

Norway

Rising Norwegian sensation SKAAR is here with a new video for her single ‘Get Him Away From Me!’

In the music video, SKAAR’s troubles spiral as things keep going wrong until she eventually runs away from her problems. The video mirrors the song’s lyrics and message about facing your problems rather than running away, and we love the storytelling going on in both versions!

SKAAR realized that she had been ignoring some dark thoughts that she should have dealt with a while back. Once we had the idea of her playing a failing janitor, we knew we wanted the video to start with a lighter vibe and then end much darker, to symbolize how her character is becoming bitter because of still being stuck in the same situation. I hope people watching this will identify with how a small thought inside their head can over time grow out of proportion.”

Martin Bremnes, ‘Get Him Away From Me’ video director

This alt-pop superstar is a force to be reckoned with because of her incredible artistic versatility. Her previous songs have been synced worldwide and her song ‘Higher Ground’ will soon be featured in an international Lancôme campaign!

Australia

Last but not least, we’re ending our journey in sunny Australia with rock band Eliza & The Delusionals!

Ahead of their debut album Now And Then, ‘Bed Song’ gives us a taste of what to expect from this highly anticipated May release! The juxtaposition of Eliza’s smooth vocals and alt-rock guitar and drums creates a brand new vibe all their own.

“‘Bed Song’ was an idea that started off so differently and I’m glad we came back to it and worked on changing it because it quickly became one of my favorite songs on the record. This song is really about Kurt and myself finding similarities in our past relationships and bringing those ideas together in a way where we could understand each other’s perspectives.”

Eliza Klatt

Eliza & The Delusionals are an indie and alt-rock inspired band that you definitely need on your playlists right now! The Australian group brings honest songwriting to infectious hooks with alternative flavor and we all need a little rock’n’roll in our lives.
