It’s a great week to listen to some pop punk (any week is a great week). This week, in particular, is so good because of all the stellar releases we’ve gotten. Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention The Wonder Years’ latest release, ‘Older Daughter,’ which you can read all about here. In addition to that track, though, we wanted to bring you some more pop punk new releases from the week that you just can’t miss out on!
Boston Manor – ‘Foxglove’
Boston Manor’s frontman Henry Cox describes this track as “woozy with a weird groove,” and we think the video matches perfectly. He said he was “hanging out of a box truck” with a camera strapped to him, and that sounds pretty fun if you ask us. It gives the video that woozy vibe that ‘Foxglove’ gives off for sure. ‘Foxglove’ is the latest release from Boston Manor, who you can actually catch on their North American tour right now! And you can stream the song here as well.
Anarbor – ‘Letter In A Suitcase’
Anarbor has come a long way since they got their start in 2003. Their latest track, ‘Letter In A Suitcase,’ shows just how far they’ve come and how their sound has evolved since their early days. They’re still going to be part of our new pop punk releases, but this track definitely leans more indie-rock. We still love it, though, don’t get it twisted. The video features some great storytelling paired with the high-energy track that makes us wanna groove along. You can stream the song here while you wait for their upcoming album Love & Drugs, which drops in September.
Nearly Spent – Nearly Spent EP
Last up on our pop punk, new releases list is Nearly Spent, a Florida-based pop-punk band who just released their new self-titled EP. Fun fact about these guys, they actually formed during COVID and spent that time developing their sound, which gives us classic early 2000s pop-punk vibes. (In case you didn’t know, it’s one of our favorite kinds) The EP features five tracks, including ‘Runaway,’ and tackles loneliness, heartbreak, and everything in between. You can stream Nearly Spent here.
