Icons Update: 4 Artists Who Just Don’t Stop Winning

Some artists have their moment in the spotlight before some sadly fade away, but these superstars have done anything but fade away. It seems like the longer they’ve been in the industry, the brighter their stars shine. They just keep winning and the more they win, the more we win. With music and tours and documentaries, there are so many incredible things happening with these legends – we can barely keep up!

Ann Wilson

The wonderful Ann Wilson, from the iconic band Heart, has just put out a breathtaking single ahead of the release of her new album. Ann has teamed up with the talented Vince Gill for a duet of Queen‘s ‘Love of My Life.’ The album features several reimaginings of classic songs but this one, in particular, was very intentional and spirited. Here’s what Ann had to say about the stunning duet:

I had the idea for the Queen song ‘Love of My Life’ as a duet, so I just tried to picture who would be ‘the male angel’ that would sing the other part of it. I thought how great the song would be if it was stripped down and just sung with soul, and it had to be Vince Gill because he’s got that voice, that soul.

It is angelic, indeed, and charged with emotions. We don’t know whether it destroyed our emotions or pieced them all back together. It’s so different from the original and stands on its own but is equally as wonderful. Fierce Bliss drops on April 29th! Just a couple more days and the album is all ours, how exciting! These singles will be on repeat until then!

Sheryl Crow

It’s been a long time coming, but we have a date for the new documentary Sheryl. The film will run on Showtime on May 6th – so close now! We couldn’t be looking forward to it more! Ahead of the release of the documentary and its accompanying album Sheryl: Music From The Feature Documentary, Sheryl has released one of the three new songs available on the album.

Entitled ‘Forever,’ it reflects on cherishing deep connections while you can and truly being present in the moment. The song hit us hard but the music video really sealed the deal on those tears. Kicking off with fresh footage of Sheryl recording and performing the song, it was mixed with documentary footage of her and her kids. It’s just pure-hearted and beautiful. Have a look for yourself but just be warned, you may want a pack of tissues nearby. Sheryl really knows how to write songs that tug at every heartstring you have and ‘Forever’ is no different.

Daryl Hall

Y’all know how excited we were for Daryl’s new album BeforeAfter, and it lived up to the hype. He may have just released the album but he is not kicking his feet up and relaxing. No, Daryl Hall has just wrapped up the first leg of his first tour in over a decade, but will be back on the road beginning May 12th. We love seeing Daryl back on stage and it feels like it’s truly where he belongs. Happy, free, and taking in all the magic of what he’s created and experiencing it with his fans.

Speaking of all the magic he’s created… Before this year’s GRAMMY Awards, Daryl sat down to do a career retrospective and it was something wonderful to see him talk in-depth about his incredible career and experiences. Getting to go behind the scenes and hear about the fire behind the passion for songwriting and performing is something not all artists choose to share but we’re glad Daryl has. Check out his PBS profile here, it truly is special.
