The film industry is buzzing ahead of New York’s Tribeca Film Festival in June, and we’re buzzing as well! Not only for the incredible new movies that will be premiering, but also the fact that some of our favorite artists will be joining in for the festivities. While we try to think up a way to get tickets to each of these events, we thought we’d update you on some of the A-listers who will be making an appearance!
So grab your calendars, planners, journals, whatever you use… this is the ultimate agenda for NYC music lovers in June.
Machine Gun Kelly
We won’t have to count down the days until we get to see Taurus for much longer, because Kells is making a special appearance at its premiere on June 9th! The movie follows the tragic story of a musician in his last few days of life, and it even draws from Colson’s own experiences in the spotlight. We can tell this project means a lot to him and we can’t wait to get to know him on a deeper level as we watch the film. And coming right off the tails of both a #1 album and his Good Mourning movie, he’s really feeding us this spring.
It’s no secret that Pharrell is one of the hardest-working producers and artists in the game, collecting credits with artists like Ariana Grande and Gwen Stefani over the past few decades. And on June 10th, a lucky group of fans will get to learn all about his work from Mr. Williams himself! Over the past few years, Pharrell has even started a non-profit called Black Ambition to help uplift Black and Latinx business owners, and we hope to hear more about that incredible project – for a little refresher on what he’s done in that department, check out his ‘Entrepreneur’ music video:
We’ve all been in love with All Too Well: The Short Film since it came out back in November, and a lucky few Swifties already went to a New York premiere where Taylor herself performed ‘All Too Well’ acoustic after the screening. But now, we’ll get to learn more about Tay’s creative process and what it was like for her to direct the film when she joins the Storytellers series on June 11th! Fingers crossed we’ll get more anecdotes about her working with Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien…
No summer would be complete without an absolute banger from our main DJ Steve Aoki, and no Tribeca run would be complete without stopping by his Storytellers discussion. With so many years of incredible music and show-stopping collabs under his belt, we know he must have some really interesting stories. And not only is Steve gonna talk about his musical portfolio, but he’s gonna talk about it with the talented actor that is Seth Green? June 13th can’t come soon enough!
