Talented, creative, kind, and beautiful are just a few of the qualities that describe the amazing IU! We don’t know about you guys, but we fell in love with IU the moment we heard her angelic voice in ‘eight.’ Can you believe it’s only been a year since the song was released? Crazy, we know! At this point, we think we’ve lost our concept of time, haha.
Anyways, this isn’t about us, this is about us hyping IU’s dreamy, light-hearted songs that can be used in K-dramas, movies, and even study sessions to help you concentrate. Best of all, her songs can be added to your Spotify playlist dedicated to making you feel like the ✨main character✨
Without further ado, here are three songs to make you feel like the protagonist, lead, central figure, main character, or whatever you want to refer to it as. The point is that these songs will make you feel like the most important character in the plot of a movie.
‘Eight’ (Prod.&Feat. SUGA of BTS)
Fellow Uaenas and ARMY, we know you must be smiling at your phone after reading our first song selection, but to be fair, you should’ve seen this coming; after all, we are K-pop fans just like you.
‘Eight’ is a song that I’m sure all of us can relate to, especially those entering adulthood, as this song talks about forgetting memories and letting go of childhood memories. The older we get, the more we get caught up in our day-to-day responsibilities. As that happens, you may be wishing to be able to go back to simpler times, but sometimes you just have to move along, have a positive outlook on life, and learn to “say goodbye to sad endings.” It’s the circle of life, all you can do now is cherish the memories that mean the most to you.
With that being said, ‘Eight’ is the perfect title track for your coming-of-age film. You can’t tell us it doesn’t perfectly encapsulate all of the nostalgic emotions that arise when reminiscing over the past. You guys see it too, right?
Alright, we hope you’ve wiped your tears after listening to ‘Eight’ because now we’re moving on to a more upbeat song, ‘Twenty-three.’ We think you know where this is going, haha, the title kind of gives it away.
‘Twenty-three’ is a song that encompasses all of the mixed emotions you feel when you’re learning how to be an adult while also not wanting to let go of your childhood. Thanks to IU’s great songwriting, we have a catchy song representing what it’s like to be in your twenties. Yes, your twenties are meant for you to have fun and figure out what you want in life, but it’s also a time where you’re learning more about yourself and growing as a person. It’s the age where you may be thinking, “Oh right, I want to be in love, No, I rather make money.” However, despite the confusion, you may feel, just know that things get better, and you’ll have more clarity about what you want out of life as you get older. Consider this song to be the background music for your character development.
Congrats! You’ve reached the end of your movie soundtrack. To wrap this article up, we just had to include ‘Blueming’ to the list because what’s a movie without a love interest?
‘Blueming’ is a fun, upbeat song that not only makes you want to get up and dance, but it just so happens to be the perfect summer song for when you’re driving for hours with the windows rolled down. Summer also just happens to be the season where love blooms, or like IU phrased it, it’s when “Our rectangular chat screen is in bloom.” In this day and age, who doesn’t text their crush? Go listen to this melodious tune to get those sparks flying!
And…cut! That’s a wrap for this main character playlist, Uaenas. We hope these three songs helped you finish your Spotify playlist. We know there’s MANY more songs we could have included because IU’s music is just that relatable, but that’ll have to wait. Or who knows, we may do a part two if you guys would like us to. After all, we love IU!
