We got to see Alec Benjamin and his crew as they stopped in Providence, RI last week! While on the US part of his (Un)Commentary Tour, Alec had been on the road since early April finally making his way across the states. The energy was electric from the crowd and it felt like the whole night went by too fast as we jammed out to the songs we got to love over the pandemic.
We Love You, Sara Kays💛
The opening act Sara Kays and Jess Grommet were such gentle and kind souls. While we got to hear songs from her Remember That Night? and an amazing cover of ‘Butterfly Fly Away’ from The Hannah Montana Movie, we were absolutely smitten by her talent. The crowd had been just as excited to sing along with her just as much as they were with Alec. We couldn’t forget about the most important tour member: Pickles (@struckbypickles on Instagram), who absolutely stole the show. 10/10 the best concert frog there ever was!
The Main Act, Alec Benjamin!
While we didn’t get a chance to see James (their drummer), we got to jam alongside Alec Benjamin (lead vocals), Josh (keys), Nick (bass), and the birthday boy Dylan (guitar). The whole night was filled with the most amazing light design we’ve seen in a minute and songs that kept us on our toes the whole night. Alec Benjamin, a literal cinnamon roll, had kept a smile on the whole night – and the crowd absolutely ate it up, hyping him up even until the last encore song. Did we want the night to end? Absolutely not, but we are so excited to see Alec and his crew grow while he gets the recognition he deserves on the road.
We got to hear most of the songs from Alec’s (Un)Commentary album that just dropped in April, and if you haven’t listened to it yet, pleasssseee stream it! You’ll get in a good cry and dance, but will be all prepped for the show where you’ll be surrounded by fans who will loudly scream the lyrics with you.
